Ok so....we have loads of time (wedding day is 29th August 2019) Venue, Registrar and Photographer are all booked with deposits paid. What if anything should I be doing next or should I leave everything else until maybe end of the year?

Florist, make up/hair if you're having it as both get booked up quickly and by now they will all most likely be taking bookings for 2019. By the sounds of it the best thing you could do for now is open a savings account specifically for the wedding and start regularly putting money away. I set up a spreadsheet to keep track of what we owed, who we owed it to and when the instalments were due, that way we've been able to keep track of how much we need to save. It wouldn't hurt to start putting together your guest list too, you could do a provisional list and change it as and when you need to until such a time as you want to send out invitations. You're doing things in plenty of time so I'm sure you'll be fine :)

Can we reserve a florist without knowing exactly what we want? We know who is doing our makeup and hair they have our dates also DJ will be confirmed after our engagement party xx

If you have lots of time to plan i would try book things to spread to costs. The best photographers florists etc can get booked up well in advance. Also send out save the dates, people plan holidays in advance so its nice to pre warn them. Fridge magnets are a great idea as they won't get lost under different papers. www.etsy.com/shop/jessharringtondesign

Gemma I am also useless at saving so I have started a little 'pot'. I have lots of stuff I have been meaning to e-bay but now I have to save for the wedding I am motivated to actually do it. All monies raised from that will be for 'the pot'. I am also putting some change in there when I have some and it is amazing how quickly it adds up. I think the main thing is to keep it separate and not in your main bank account or it will get snaffled up with other things.
