£500-£1000 I'd say.

It depends on what kind of wedding and how many guests. I know someone whose wedding cost £1100 as they went to registry office and later went for a meal with their guests . My wedding was a five figure sum, but we had a hotel wedding with wedding breakfast, ceremony and evening party. Our original budget was around £5,000 but costs can quickly rise ,once you actually start planning what you want and factor in all of the additional costs.

I think I've managed a pretty budget wedding. I'm catering for 100 guests dress, bridesmaids, suits etc for around £3000

I've spent 2000 for mine and that's registry office and reception at inlaws house with them paying for food and drink, a friend and family doing pictures, honeymoon suite, bought dress off the rack for £300 but customised it (mother in law to be is a seamstress and doing alterations too) haggled and shopped around for one wedding car and cake shop doing cake we wanted to our budget, it's all the little bits you want that add up the costs, my hair and makeup is costing nearly as much as my dress xx

Ours is to be a tight budget as only small wedding 24 guests but still not going to get much change from £2000.

Depends where you are, I'm doing mine for 2600 with 40 day and 80 evening guests, that's the ceremony, wedding breakfast, buffet and disco included. I did get my dress in the sale though, and I'm making the bouquets and MIL is making the came x

Mines costing roughly £1400. That's for the registry office, the cake (getting it from M&S, buying each tier separately already iced and then decorating it myself), rugby club afterwards with a buffet (my family & I are doing the buffet ourselves), my sister is a photgrapher, my invitations cost £14.99 from vistaprint and they are lovely, the DJ, hiring someone to decorate the hall with table covers and sashes, I'm getting help with my dress and the price takes into account the rings and suit hire. Having 70 guests in the ceremony and around 90 in the evening. It's very do able if you put your mind to it x

I did mine for less than 4k in total. That was everything, hotel package that had 36 during the day and 100 at night, dress, suit, rings, cake, wine on the tables, all on a Saturday as well. Included in this was my 2 week honeymoon with was a tour of the south coast in short break caravan holidays and the fuel to get there and back. Was a great day, everyone commented on a similar one they all went to that cost 42k. Just goes to show, look around, a bit of effort and you reap the rewards.

Mine was under 4000 we were married in a church and my daughters christening the same day. I had 11 bridesmaids kitted them out from head to toe I found the dresses I liked then bought exact copies from eBay China for less than £30 each they were amazing. We hired a local pub/hotel for the reception which cost £42. Family did a huge buffet for 145 people . We hired a decorator which included hire for the decorations £500. My sister in law did our wedding cake and my sister did the christening cake. We had a rodeo camel, a photo booth, a disco dome, a face painter and a caricaturist (We had 40 children there). Suits were hired flowers were from eBay and my dress was only £300

I have no idea how you can budget under £9,000 at the very least, seems impossible to me, but if you manage it feel free to throw any tips my way xx

Hi, I would consider our wedding to be budget. We had 80 guests and compromised on little things like doing the decorations ourselves. Ours came out at £6,000 ish. (£5000 budget but went over)
If you wanted to strip back further - we could have saved on the band and a few other things- I expect it's possible to do it for less than that.

We had the church then wedding breakfast and reception at a golf club it came to max £9000 possibly less (my parents sorted the money out my brain doesn't do math )

'A budget wedding' ..... one persons perception of budget is different to another , you can spend as much or as little as you are comfortable with .... I did two ceremony's - one in USA one in uk - for under £6000, that included two dresses for me all bridesmaids dresses reception for 60 day,100 evening guests here and everything else

I spent around £5000 on our 'budget' wedding. My dress and reception venue were the most expensive and are where I could have cut costs. Look at a buffet rather than sit down meal, my bridesmaid dresses were from Amazon (EverPretty), shoes from high street stores, I found a lady just starting up a wedding decor business so my table centres and chair covers were very cheap. Shop around is my best advice xx

We spent just under £3k for ours, it's more than doable. We had a register office ceremony at 5.30 pm and went straight to the reception at a local social club where we had a massive hot and cold buffet. This included dresses and shoes/ acessories for the whole party, dj, car, venue dressing, flowers, food etc. We were very lucky to have our families help us a LOT or the day would have cost less still x

I'm shocked seeing people call a £6000 wedding a "budget"....
Mine is just about £1000. Going to register office the day before. No room booked, just the office with a witness. It's £120 for it all including certificate. Got a hall that has a bar etc for £100 which is gorgeous and includes a DJ (if you don't believe me, Google Llay miners welfare institute, look at their website at wedding section). Designer dress was in clearance sale due to change of stockist for 1/4 of original price (still the most expensive part of my wedding at around £400). Bridesmaid dresses on eBay £22 each. Partner and best men are wearing plain black suits they already own plus matching ties from eBay £7 each. Cold buffet is £130 for 60 people as buying it myself and making it with friends the night before (for a local caterer of hot buffet is £300). A friend is doing a mock service on the day for us, in same venue as reception. Cake from local bakers that's been around since 1800's, 2 tier only costing £70 fully decorated. Their cakes are delicious

My step mum and dad did it for about £300. Register office and buffet back at the house (decorated etc by friends), EBay dresses and suits, and a Sainsburys cake.

If anyone wants tips and tricks, feel free to message me. Me and my partner are also wedding photographers and videographers (as well as engagement, family, event, portfolio, etc) who build package based on your budget (Thistle & Rose Productions- on facebook)

What you can afford is what I say, I would never put myself into debt for one day when all that really matters is your vows on the day :) ... I actually dont understand these people who say they can't spend any less than £10k ... thats absurd! We're aiming for £2000, £3k maximum but don't think we'll spend that ... it'll all be down to the decisions you make :)
