Hi there! I'm Nicki, a wedding photographer :)

I would advise to get your wedding photographer booked in super early, that way you get pick of the bunch. I've had people book 18 months or more in advance! So if you have your heart set on a certain photographer, or a certain look, then get booking :)

If you wanted to check out my page it's www.facebook.com/fjsphotography1 or my website is www.fjsweddingphotography.com 😊

Happy planning!

Photographer, band/dj, florist, caterer (if the venue doesn't have their own).

Making the appointment to give notice of intent to marry comes later as there's a certain timeframe you need to do it before the wedding (I can't remember, like 7 months? Check your council's website). Book your ceremony registrar to secure your preferred timeslot.

When we booked our venue we had to then confirm the registrar as we were having the ceremony on site. The next thing we have done is food. Just finalising that now. And we have just under 10 months to go. After that will be moving on to entertainment/DJ. Then photographer. Although we are asking the wife if someone we know anyway. Who was going to be invited to the wedding anyway (we want it rather relaxed anyway.) Our venue allows us to bring our own wine, so wine tasting is on my list soon, and I'm making all the decorations myself, so the craft bits are purchased but need to get cracking! I've got my dress, (was lucky to get one cheap on ASOS - but still lovely!) but need shoes and accessories, bridal party clothes and rings, but will do them a bit nearer the time. Hope that helps!

Sign up to bridebook.co.uk, it's like a digital diary. You get a checklist of things to do and when to do them, and a really helpful budgeting plan. They also have a directory for local suppliers. I log in once a week and see what need sorting.

If it's a civil ceremony you'll need to check with the registrar they can do they same date and set a time. And arrange to give notice of the wedding.
