hi every one, its 6 weeks to my wedding and ive been doing a play list for the dj..... starting with up to date music then around 10pm when every one is slightly tipsy I plan on doing a hour of complete cheesy music... anything from wham, dead or alive to welcome to the monkey house, what's every one else having music wise ? just a bit of banter :)

Ours is having more of an indie and hiphop/rnb vibe i think. With a few classics thrown in early for the older guests. X

We are having a mix of everything from up to date music and some good old 80s anthems some early 90s R&B classics, some rock anthems everyone loves a bit of Queen, Meatloaf and Guns N Roses and we will also have some cheesy songs like the cha chat slide, the macerena and mambo no 5 x

We asked guests to pick 5 songs each (We only had 30) - meant that we had a huge variety due to ages and tastes

We went for cheese and classics and the dance floor was never empty

On our invites we have asked our guests to each choose a song so we are hoping that gives us a good variety ️ x

I left it to my Dj as that was what I was paying him for. I did ask guests on the invitations 'song most likely to get you on the dance floor ' and I sent him the list and he put in the ones he felt worked best with his set

You are paying a dj to do his job. Leave it in his hands.
Only pick a small number of special songs.
He will be able to watch the guests and know what songs to play at what time to keep everyone entertained.

We've said a good old bit of cheese, always gets everyone on the dance floor. Then anything from 80's up to now......but definitely no rap!!

Mainly 1990-2000's lots of Britney I have asked for no RnB as hate it! Also asked for no Bon jovi or Grease as my friend worked at a wedding venue and if she hears it at a wedding one more time she would scream lol. My friend is a dj so helped me out going for more obscure.

we had a band told the dj the set list so he could see what they were already playing. asked on invites for guests song choices and passed those on to him as well. he did a great job with mixing our punk and rock in with all the other stuff too.

I'm not having cheesy music absolutely banned from our play list! Haha!

Love that idea! There are defiantly some mists and must nots, but I think the dj will know what he's doing. Bit of easy listening to get people into it then on with the cheese and classics to get everyone up partying lol

We're planning my taste (pop-punk/emo), his taste (metal) and I've said we'll have half hour of Motown for our mums and then a mix of stuff that'll get the kids dancing (although definitely no gangman style 😂)

We let our dj pick most of it. The kids in our wedding party got 2 choose a few beforehand & we had great fun with the cha cha slide, superman, etc. The kids also enjoyed getting 2 b involved xx

I gave our dj a list of songs we liked, we have eclectic tastes so it was a good variety, we now run our own mobile disco service and we don't have a set list, if we're not provided with a play list we'll start off with a few songs to see how they work and adapt it from there, that's what we're paid for x

We want a lot of 70s punk/. Clash sex pistols that kind of thing some rock in there, a bit of up to date music
(please no Rihanna or gaga),
trying to come up with some chilled out stuff for the beginning (I'm struggling there)
And I have a problem with cheese (both of us do tbh) so really really struggling there. We have started a playlist but I feel sorry for the do that has to work with this (there's stuff both of us really don't like and I'm worried now)

We are having a band for the first 2 hours then we've asked everyone to name a song on the invite and will put them into a play list for the next few hours :)
