I was originally planning on getting married at Hafton Castle, Dunoon in Scotland... However me and my H2B are from south wales and I'm curious as to how difficult it would be to plan a wedding with regards to liaising with people and stuff... His family are from Dunoon however his parents live in south wales near us, my family are willing to travel, I just wanted his family there as they weren't at his first wedding.

I don't think it would be too difficult. You can look up most things on the internet and talk to supplier on the phone and via email. Good luck x

I live in Scotland and have just booked our wedding in north Wales where my H2B is originally from. The only think I see being difficult is the pavala of the registry office because we live up here and want to get married there.. where there's a will there's a way!! xx

You can do everything by phone and email pretty much. My best mate organised her own wedding in Ireland when she lives in Jersey and it was amazing!

I'm from penarth as is my partner but we live in London way. We are getting married back home in Cardiff in two months. I know it's not as far as the distance from wales to Scotland but we've managed to commute to get as much done as we can. Next month I'm too and from every week for various things. You will do fine. Good luck.

I went to my venue twice before my wedding. Once to book and once for a menu tasting. Everything else was done by phone, email or fb x

It shouldn't be too challenging to be honest. I'm getting married in Cornwall next month, my h2b and I live in Kent, most of my family are Kent and my h2b's family are all in Birmingham. We booked our venue during one trip last summer then went back for a week last autumn to source a florist, cake, caterer and hair stylist. Booking suppliers and making enquiries has mostly been done via email. I thought it would be a lot more work and that we'd be back and forth constantly but if you're organised it can be done quite easily. Most experienced suppliers are quite used to having couples from far away. Good luck. Xx

Also, if you are born after a certain date (think it's 1983) you have to have a passport as a form of ID. They won't accept a drivers licence.

I live 2 hours away from our wedding venue and found it fine to plan. Attended wedding fayres in the area and just arranged to see things on same days when we have been to visit x

It's doable if you have time and are organised. We're getting married in Scotland but live Lincolnshire. We just got up and do a lot there then most things can be done remotely. Glad we went for a package thought so much less stress and so far recommended suppliers have been fab!

Hiya we live in Birmingham and are getting married in the Lake District in December. To be honest I was dreading trying to organise a wedding so far away but it's been relatively plain sailing (fingers crossed). I've used a lot of local recommended suppliers from up there and found these on the internet / Facebook and through relatives recommendation that live up there. I just made sure I checked them out on reviews etc beforehand and also googled the wedding industry awards that covered the area you are getting married in. My thinking here was that these are folk that are nominated by the public for their workmanship and customer service and are legit so would hopefully do me well! The only thing I've brought locally to my home town is the bridalwear / groomswear as most of these live local to me so was easier to stay local for this. As long as you do your research beforehand you'll be fine though but I'd say this was true for any wedding! Xx
