Slimming world helped me but maybe you just had a bad day trying it back on- I wasn't a massive fan of how I looked but with a few positive comments it helped and I liked how I looked on the big day. Hope you enjoy your wedding

Try Epsom salts in a bath. It's helps gets rid of water weight but you need to be sure you are drinking lots of fluids as having to many baths with the salts can dehydrate you xx

I used slimfast 6 weeks before my wedding and lost a stone! It's not the healthiest way to do it but definitely works as a quick fix xx

I had a similar issue, Id had a baby though. My dress didn't quite fit 3 weeks before the wedding, in fact it wouldn't do up. So I did the Atkinson diet for a week and lost a stone, the dress fitted and i had to maintain the weight loss until the wedding day.

The 5:2 diet is great. 2 days week you eat 600 calories and the other 5 days you eat how ever you normally would (within reason obviously). I find it really easy because I only have to diet 2 days a week and I saw consistent weight loss each week. Was the only diet to work for me in years. No special foods to buy either, so works out quite cheap because 2 days a week you're not eating much.

Exante diet. It's cheap and east to do. I lost 5lbs in 1 week. Google it online. 2 shakes instead of 2 meals and it fills u up so u don't snake. Lots of different flavours. Can't recommend it enough.

Slimming world. I lose on average 2lb a week. I had my baby 7 weeks ago and half lost nearly 2 stone that I put on while pregnant. I want to lose another stone (which will be all my baby weight plus more) then I'm going shopping for my dress.
It's a great plan, I'm never hungry. I was even allowed to follow it while pregnant as it is approved by the midwives it's deemed such a healthy eating lifestyle not a diet xx

Lift weights. I can't tell you what a difference that has made to me on a 12 week programme. Don't bother with the fad diets and cutting food groups. Work out your macros and lift heavy weights.

The military is fantastic, I've lost 5lb this week and feel great, you follow the plan for 3 days and eat healthily for 4 days and then repeat. It really does work

UKbride Administrator

I'm a personal trainer and have helped many women slim down for their big day. Try to avoid any 'quick fix's', yes you'll lose weight initially but they're not sustainable and once you stop you'll regain that weight plus more. 8 weeks is plenty of time to feel great, a healthy loss is no more than 2lb a week so you could lose up to 16lb in that time frame. Try to do some form of exercise everyday whether that's going for a walk/run, lifting weights in the gym or a class etc and partner that with a balanced diet; a portion of protein with every meal, plenty of veg and a small portion of complex carbohydrates before and after a workout. Also, 2 litres of water everyday will help speed up your metabolism, flush through any toxins and will give you beautiful hair and skin for the big day! Feel free to message me if you have any questions but I'm sure you'll look stunning!! xx

I signed up to Betty Rockers 30 day challenge. She sends you 15 minute videos that help tone your body. Costs nothing unless you sign up to her diet plan. It's quite intense for 15 minutes a day but I noticed a difference in the shape of my body afterwards.

No fad diets. Or 'quick fixes'
Drink nothing but water, carry on with your exercise.
And really stick to healthy food and snacks.
I have been taking green tea tablets to help detox and general improve my mood and vitamin C to help with mood and skin. XxxX
Possibly look at sauna wraps that your local spas should offer for a day or two before your big day xx

I felt exactly the same and did a 'quick fix'. I wouldn't normally recommend it but when you've got limited time left and just need that 'oomph' then needs must! I did the cleanse 9. Ended up losing 2 stone incredibly quickly. Felt like 'me' on my wedding day and loved my dress !

I have felt like that. Tried everything for a year and half and nothing worked.. somehow when I stopped trying so harf I lost the.most. last 4 weeks before the wedding I lost a lot of weight without even realising. You will feel great on the day either way and if you have a good seamstress as I had they can do wanders and made me look amazing. Have a great day and do not put yourself down and under so much pressure. I find that now after all the stress of the wedding has gone I can loose weight on the diets that didn't work before the wedding. Good luck x

I weighed in at 11st 4.5lbs when I started Slimming World last month and 6 weeks later I weigh 10st 7.5lb, so only 3lb to lose and I've lost a stone! It's great as I can eat as much free food as I like and even still have treats.

I've been trying to lose weight since October and didn't lose any despite trying a variety of different healthy eating regimes and different exercises, including a personal trainer. I started Joe wicks on Monday and have lost 5lb since then! I eat pretty healthily anyway, making all food from scratch etc, so didn't have high hopes, especially with the small amount of exercise, but it's worked so well. I didn't pay for the personalised plan, just followed the principles of only eating complex carbs after a HIIT session, 2-3L water a day, lots of green tea, high protein and veggie meals. I'm so pleased because my wedding dress is slightly too small and was worried I wouldn't be able to fit in but now I'm confident and hoping it might even be taken in!

Don't put pressure on yourself, too many women getting married suddenly feel the need to lose some extra pounds, your future husband loves all of you. If you don't lose the extra few pounds (and it must only be a few as your dress still fits) dont worry about it. Be happy with yourself, I bet you look stunning in that dress just as you are. Own that dress! Just be healthy and happy x

UKbride Administrator

Get a Fitbit and log every single thing u eat and drink, I lost a stone going to the gym but then stopped losing weight, when I started logging my food I realised I wasn't massively over eating but I was eating and burning the same amount of calories because I thought I could relax a bit with being in the gym so much! I've got it set to lose 1lb per week so it adds up ur calories and tells you if ur on target or not, I've started losing weight again now I realise I was snacking a little without really realising and eating more calories than I thought

NHS 12 week plan, free and really works plus you get on line support. Best thing I've found, use fitness Pal to log calories but it's vital you check the bmi calculator to make sure your eating enough or you could end up holding onto fat if your body thinks it's starving.

Slimming world, it's not a diet , I'm over 50 and have tried every fad diet going , 1 there not long term and you will put it all back on , 2 you get bored with them and give up
Slimming world is so easy I didn't do it before as didn't think I could eat enough, believe me I can lol , I lost 2.5 stone and have been at target for nearly 2years, you could easily lose over a stone in eight weeks,
Good luck hope wedding is lovely
