What's better, a band or a DJ?? We have a mix of older and younger people, love a range of music and want to dance! (This is at the reception after 9pm) But our band has come back at about twice the price, a DJ would be much cheaper. But if it's worth it then we'll try to make it work!

I guess it depends on your crowd. Myself and my partner are not fans of live music so I would pick a DJ every time - this way guests can request music too! But I have known some crowds at weddings to really enjoy a live band.

We are having a DJ just means you can pick songs and people can ask for songs

Its personal preference but we went with the DJ option

We were definitely going DJ the whole way then people started asking if we were having a band and I looked into it so now going for a band and then they do a playlist after and we can give them songs to add so it's still personal.

The band we booked provided a dj set in between and after they played- it was the best of both worlds and had something for everyone:)

I had a DJ. Was best call for us. We love to dance and we love our cheesy hits. Everyone was saying how much fun our reception was and reminded them of 90s discos

We chose a band who were a modern swing duo so they did the classics earlier in the DVD then their version of pop songs which we liked and suited both older and younger guests

We had a mix too and went DJ only it was fab dance floor packed all night. Just make sure you get an experienced DJ who is used to doing full wedding packages not just after a band when remaining crowd tends to be younger

If you want live entertainment look at a singer that also doubles as a DJ between sets.

We had a Dj but I have been to other weddings with bands and the bands play a mix just like a Dj would. It's personal preference I suppose? Do you prefer live music?

We are having a live band only because they are friends of ours. Nothing wrong with having a DJ, good luck x

I personally don't like bands at a wedding as they feel a bit restrictive, as in the music may be limited.
But i know people aren't fans on DJ's if they're too cheesy.
I would say a DJ would be more popular x

We are having a dj. But are having a mixture of songs to suit all and allowing song requests in advance x

We've booked a jukebox. It looks super cool and people can choose songs. It also has a preloaded playlist that keeps playing even when people don't choose anything. And cost us £300 for the whole day.

We have live music for our ceremony but because of our small numbers and the type of guests we have we decided to hire a Jukebox for the evening - so it can play music in the background - or people can go up and choose a song if they want to dance.
