Hi everyone, I'm in need of some dress advice. I bought a So Sassi Poppy dress earlier this year. I had said all along that I didn't want a strapless dress and this one was only thrown into the "to try" pile by the shop assistant as a wild card...but it turned out to be The One. When I mentioned that I wasn't a huge fan of strapless dresses, the assistant suggested I get straps added by the seamstress when I was getting it altered. She had a couple of spare bits of material to show what she had in mind. (Ignore the fact it clearly needs let out...) I had my first appointment with the seamstress the other week and I didn't like the look of any of the styles of lace she had. They all just seemed too big and bulky. She's going to let the dress out initially (which involves changing the button up back to a lace up back) so that I can see how I feel about it once it fits properly. I was wondering if anyone else could offer some suggestions of what I could look at if I still don't like the look of it strapless? I wouldn't be wanting to add something huge to it, just maybe some subtle capped sleeves or straps.

You could add a little lace shrug that just has cap sleeves or what about spaghetti straps?

Im adding thin sparkly off the shoulder straps to my originally strapless dress. Ive also sourced some material 3d flowers which are also being added to the straps. It is now perfect but i cant show pictures on here:(

Can the seamstress actually show you how it would look, by folding bits of lace etc, before the work is done and cant be changed if you don't like it?

I have small diamontie straps for mine, unfortunately I don't have a picture but I too didn't like material or lace straps so went for what can only be described as small diamonds fixed together in a line made into a strap xx
