Hi brides We're already having a sweet cart as our wedding favours and thinking of maybe having a rose chocolate lollipop if we have any money spare. I like doing things for charity and wondered if anyone has done charity pins before and how did they turn out? Thank you
I haven't sorry but if that's what you would like contact the charity you have in mind and see what they can do for you. Maybe even buy a sample? X
Hi Patricia that sounds like a great idea good luck:)
We have got charity pin badges for the adults favours. We picked three different charities close to our hearts. All were easy to source.
We had leaf shaped badges from cancer research for our favours, they looked lovely and loads of people put them on at the time. It was a charity personal to both of us so it was nice to think that the charity was getting some money x
My cousins wedding they done the charity pins for cancer research and they were really lovely. The cards had then usual a donation has been made on your behalf and then had the bride and grooms name and wedding date on them. I think they had a message of their own on there too, it was nearly 4 years ago so can't quite remember the finer details. Whichever charity you choose see if they can personalise the card for you. Definitely a lovely idea to do
We are having pins from a military veteran charity. We made business cards to put the pins on that explained that we were doing these in lieu of favours. We are hoping that they will be well received.
We had charity pins for the British Heart Foundation and also made donations to 2 other charities in memory of loved ones. We put a card on the table explains what we had done and why and everyone said what a perfect idea
We had these last week at our wedding in memory of my Nanna xxx
There's a roundup of which charities do them here with links to buy: http://onefabday.com/uk/give-celebration-charity-wedding-favours-uk/
We did and they were a hit. A friend of ours also done this and they were happy. We chose a charity close to our heart. Extremely Glad we done this.
I'm doing Alzheimer's society pins because I lost my grandfather a few years ago and he meant a lot to me. They do sets of pins for events I think a lot of charities do. Just chose something that means something to you both.
For my wedding I went online to the cancer research site and I had the option of badges or wristbands so I had wristbands for the younger ones and badges for the adults it was a lovely gesture and our guest were happy with that. You can design your own card which sits with your chosen item. I was pleased better then wasting money on extra sweets or candles etc. Good luck x
We had cancer research charity pins and put them on the place names. There are a selection of different pins, £1 each and were a hit with our guests x
We are purchasing pins for the local children's hospice they come in a selection of colours and I'm sure they will be received well - even if they're left behind as favours inevitably are sometimes, the money has gone to good use :)
