Any wedding I've been too I've always took my own..suppose it depends how much you want to spend..I won't be supplying it for my guests x

Come again? Are you telling us you've invited 87 people to your wedding (firstly, wow! how are you close enough to 87 people to invite to a intimate occasion, it makes me feel like a hermit!) and asking if, and how much confetti you should buy?

Its your choice, most people bring confetti, however if you do want to buy confetti, its your choice. I had a small intiate day, with my nearest and dearest, so chose to buy confetti for each person (people also brought their own) however, I think 87 boxes of confetti is a bit much, maybe has one box for 2-3 guests?

Never been to a wedding where it's supplied. However, if you do, I wouldn't buy more than 30 boxes as most people will bring their own.

I told guests that confetti was allowed and they bought their own! I've never been to a wedding where the bride and groom provide it? X

We've provided confetti to make sure it's stuff the venue will allow- we bought a big bag and separated it into cones - got about 40 to do 80 guests

Most people bring their own but we are supplying some, I have got 20 pks and they are going to be put into baskets for the flower girls to hand out, I just thought it made a nice touch to supply some for people that forgot to get any :) xx

I requested for people to bring their own to my wedding. My best friend she provided some for people and I think she had done one each for all the day guests. She had the dried flower petals as well and then made he cones herself. She said wasn't too expensive doing this. Look at websites where you can buy big bags of confetti or check out eBay and Amazon xxz

When I got married we supplied it and I bought five litres, we had 72 adults guests and there was some left over so I would so 4-5 litres as some men don't want to throw it. If you want the confetti shot... xx

Most people don't actually bring confetti well a lot of mine didn't we bought 50 packets and gave to our guests as they left the church. I think the more the better our pictures look amazing because of the amount of confetti used!

We had to Have natural petals at our venue so I provided enough for all our guests but we did have a lot left over.

If you're buying confetti buy enough for about half of your guests. I bought real flowers from eBay and they came with little boxes to put it in and it worked brilliantly. I've still got loads left lol xx

I bought a retail box of it on eBay (25 boxes for around a fiver) then divided it up into bags to be given out at the church, we had more than enough for a handful for each guest and some did bring their own:)

I did confetti for all the females with just a few spare. Sexist I know, but it was plenty and kept the cost down. The ushers handed out to the ladies (and a few men) when they walked out the door after the service.

No one brought confetti to our wedding but I had already bought natural petals and made my own confetti cones to put it in. We had one for each guest. ..we had 32 and we have some amazing confetti shots.

I had 91 day guests and only did 50 confetti cones as a gesture! Some guests bring their own.

We made our own just from nearly gone over rose heads, we had roses every week anyway (£2 from Lidl) and just before they went over I took the petals off and lay them out on newspaper to dry and kept them in a shoe box once dry. We ended up with loads!

My guests brought their own. I've never been to a wedding where it had been supplied for you x

We have 90 to our day and I'm catering for about 50. Most confetti cones are quite large so people tend to share. I'm having buckets of it for people to have a handful as opposed to separate packets and getting 5 litres xx

We have around 70 coming to our ceremony and me and my OH have made our own confetti. I'm doing one for each adult and a bottle of blowing bubbles for the kids xx

I provided 1 between 2 and it was more than enough. And some people brought their own as well. I bought biodegradable petal confetti from eBay and instead of buying the cones, which seems to be very popular, I bought little white organza bags, as they were only £2 for 25 so brought the cost down massively. And they looked really pretty!

We didn't do individual confetti. For about £15 I got a massive basket filled with fresh petals and people could take a handful. It's then an extra job for someone that may not have a role to walk round with the basket on the day xx

We have 60 guests coming to the service (or just over) and I will be buying a confetti cone for each person.

We had a couple of glass bowls by the door for people to help themselves to

I had 70 at my day and my mum made confetti cones herself using things from poundland and then we used coloured pompoms for fun we made around 35 so all for the women but they shared with their partners and some guests also brought some too

You need to check with your venue, most don't allow confetti because they're a pain to clean up afterwards...

Literally just got married - had 140 people at the church and we bought a 5 litre box of delphinium petals and the ushers handed it out as everyone walked out the church - not everyone participates in throwing confetti, especially men so we found we had the perfect amount. Happy planning!

We got married 7 months ago and this post has literally only just made me realise that we had no confetti - didn't miss it.

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 2 Jun 2017

The manager at our venue advised against using cones, because you end up with people who will just turn the cone upside down and dump everything out, so in photos you don't get a nice even shower of confetti. Our florist is providing biodegradable petals in two baskets, guests will just grab a handful for when they form the two lines for us to walk through.

I've got 41 people at our wedding day and I've worked out enough for 30. They say hat not everyone will use the confetti so don't worry too much. And as others have said, people may bring their own. X

You could get get enough for everyone or get guests to share x
