Has anyone had a Marks and Spencers Wedding cake? They look good and are a very good price compared to what I've been quoted - £300 for 2 tiers, with a very simple design. M&S £300 for 4-5 tiers. Was wondering if anyone had tasted one?

I looked at them and they look great. I don't know how the wedding cakes taste but their birthday ones are lovely

Not had a wedding one but had a round cake with booties for my son's Christening - it was lovely and looked exactly like the photo. We're having an M&S cake for our wedding, just a flat square one and an extra slab for cutting, both together total £48.

I nearly fell off my chair £300-£500 for 4 tiers!? Mine is being handmade 4 teirs for £450 and very detailed with lace , flowers, petals and lustre work . That is alot for plain simple cakes!!! Can noone do one for you? Shop around!!

I used to be a wedding coordinator and quite a few of the couples I dealt with had a M&S cake and they all went down a treat. You do generally have to construct the tiers yourself so I would check with your venue if they will do it for you or if there is someone from your wedding party on the day who will do it for you - remember to bring something to cut the cake pillars with, I generally found they are to long without trimming!
