Do all venues allow you to use your own alcohol for a corkage fee? A friend wants to gift us alcohol to use for the wedding (they get £400 worth of alcohol free through their work) but don't know if I should feel stupid asking the venue before finalising the contract.

There's no harm in asking. We asked our venue if we could bring our own non alcoholic bubbly as we don't drink but still wanted to feel special as it is our day. And they were so brilliant about it. We're lucky no corkage as it's not alcoholic. 💖💖

Hi contact your venue and ask if it is possible to do this :)

I wouldn't feel silly asking... nothing should be off limits because it is better for both you AND the venue to be on the same page!

You don't have to explain that you are getting gifted alcohol or anything else to justify it, you can simply ask. A good venue will reply promptly with an answer either way 👍🏼

There is no harm in asking the venue, but not all venues will let you bring your own alcohol

Most places you usually have to pay for corkage per bottle. Its also only usually wine or champagne/ prosecco that u can take in. If it's a licensed premises that's normally the rule. Plus sometimes the corkage can cost more then the bottle itself.
