Hello, I just started my wedding planning and already have a big dilemma with which dj or singer to choose. I really like one dj/singer but the only package he can do it's from 4 pm till midnight. Is it not too late if my wedding ceremony starts at 1.30? The wedding breakfast will be at around 3 pm. Are the guest will be ok with no music that time or should I play something from CD. What about after mindnight? I'm really not sure what to do. Really like this singer but I'm tempted to go for someone who can be there all day. I really need your advice! Thanks a lot.
If the venue has a system you can play a playlist through, then you can do that while you have your meal (you don't really need a dj/singer while you eat anyway). By the time you finish your meal it will be after 4 and great timing.
And for later, well most venues don't let you have the dj/ loud music after midnight anyway, plus you'll probably be exhausted by then!
I'd say, if you like them and you like their price then go for it!! Xx
Hi I agree with Paige the venue should have a system so you can have music but not too loud so the guest can talk to . :)
I used to be a wedding coordinator at a venue and I can assure you that your guests will be just fine with some background music on a CD throughout the ceremony and meal, if a musician is there during these times most of your guests won't notice anyway!
You are unlikely to find a musician that will stay with you all day from ceremony through until midnight, it is too long for them. Your DJ has offered quite standard timings for most DJs, ending at midnight is standard as most of the time you will have the venue until midnight. If you are at a venue that allows you to go past midnight ask the DJ if he offers extra hours (or if he can come later than 4pm e.g 5pm - 1am) most will do at but it might cost you extra. If you have you heart set on having someone perform during the ceremony and dinner you would need to look at having another performer. Most will offer up to 3 x 45 minute sets or 2 x 1 hour sets.
Good luck!
My wedding is also at 1.30 and wedding breakfast around 3 so we are making a playlist to play while we eat and getting the dj to set up once we have finished and they are setting up for the evening 😊
It's nice to have just guests chatting, my church wedding is at 2pm and food at 4 then dj at 7 so will be nice to eat and chat for all your guests x
My wedding timing are similar to you and I am just planning of having some music playing quietly in the background until the evening do starts. I have been to 1 wedding where the music was too loud during the meal and it was just off putting as it made it difficult to chat to people.
I'm just having no music until evening reception as we are just chatting xx
