Does anyone else feel like their wedding won't be what they dream it to be? Like it's gonna look like a kids birthday party rather than a wedding? I get married next March and due to being on a strict budget, I am terrified that we are gonna do it all wrong and regret everything! ???? I know the most important part of the day is marrying the man I love but it's still a lot of money to throw away :-(
Hi I feel exactly the same nothing is working out as I envisaged e.g. not getting married in a church, the dress I wanted just doesn't suit and so on. Like you we are on a small budget but there is no doubt in my mind about my Fiance :)
It's very hard keeping to a budget. Try get any creative friends family to help out. Also look on places like eBay amazon for things you need. I hope it goes well for you xx
I have already decided it's not gonna be as good as I envision as I do this a lot build things up then get very disappointed everytime
I keep on wondering if i've chosen the right things, will it all go together etc. I think as brides we want everything to be so perfect, but I'm sure everything will look lovely on the day, for us all!
I feel exactly the same, I've got over 12 months to plan and save up and I know it won't be enough. We are also on a strict budget and everything I like is too expensive! My other half tells me every day that it will be fine and at least we will be together to share the memories. I know he's right but I still worry xx
I have this every time I start planning something :(
We are the same trying to do everything on a small budget.. the venues are too expensive, the food is too expensive, the only upside is that I am doing the decor etc myself! But even now it's like everything I like is out of my budget!
I found a lot of inspiration on Pinterest- how to save money and DIY a lot of things if this helps!
Wishing you all the best xxxxx
highlights of every wedding I have ever been too.. the bride walking down the aisle, the speeches and the first dance- all of which are priceless!!! It's not about how much you spend and all the little things you imagine will make your wedding but cost the earth- noone will remember in a years time! Scrap table gifts as they are often left behind and can be pricey and search websites like bride2bride !! xx
I have to admit I was never that enthusiastic about having a church wedding and reception. I wanted to go away really, but due to OH's Mum not being able to travel we are having it quite local. So I am now keeping it simple, our local church, and then we are going to a place in the countryside where they have rooms to stay, a small room to hire and a rather amazing Italian restaurant. I am a little worried that people will think I have kept it too simple... but I can promise them some lovely food, a great bar and a comfortable nights sleep. I think whatever we choose we are going to worry about it... I am making the cake myself (I used to do this for a living so I am ok about that), but I don't want to spend a fortune on flowers, decorations, and unnecessary things. You are so right everthing is so expensive, it would be so easy to get carried away, but I don't want to spend more money than we can afford and I definitely don't want to be putting anything on credit. I am sure whatever you choose to do will be wonderful, you have to concentrate on making it a day full of memories and make sure you enjoy it. :)
I have to say sadly agree with something everyone has said above. If I could get married tomorrow I would, I can't wait, but everything is so expensive. I just hope it turns out to be the day we both dream of in the end!
