Please help. We are experiencing problems with our reception venue. We booked the venue because not only do we like it but we have had previous good experiences there however it has now changed owners. We took our family there for a meal on Mother's Day and it was a disaster. Although the food was OK the presentation of the food and the service was appalling. We since had a meeting with the wedding coordinate who couldn't apologise enough and informed us they had a problem with the chef. So we put it down as a one off. However I phoned the venue today to discuss accomodation and I was informed that due to health and safety we can't use the cottage. It's only a small venue so was relying on the cottage for rooms so now we can't accomidate everyone we wanted. Sorry for long message but I'm just concerned that we keep having issues and I don't no what we can do about it. Our wedding is in August so don't think we could change the venue at this short notice. Please help a very anxious worried bride

I would go with your gut instinct. If something is telling you it's not right then maybe look at alternatives? Its your big day and you only get this 1 shot at it so you want it to be just right :)

Do you have a contract with them, if so I would read it very carefully?

And I would dig out your wedding insurance documents and see how your policy covers you in this event.
