Been with my partner for just over 4 years. Have two beautiful children. Been engaged for about a month. But have no idea where to start on the whole wedding planning! Help me please ??????
Hi I would decide on a budget then find your venue and then the registrar.
Hi, I personally done everything back to front lol I found my dress then a venue so silly but thankfully it worked out for us! I had a budget in mind but turns out I over estimated which was a good thing as it meant when budgeting I could have the venue I wanted and the cost was no suprise! But to cut a long story short, pick a date and check registers first as they arnt always available yet venues generally have availability! We booked 18months in advance! Good luck with the planning xx
People always say start by setting your budget - but that's not easy if you have no idea how much things cost. So I say start with looking at who you would invite (rough numbers) and then look at wedding sites and forums, magazines and blogs. Get an idea for those cost of the type of things you like. Once you have an idea how much your type of wedding would cost ask yourself if you're prepared to pay that much. If so - there's your budget and you can start working from there how long do you need to save that much money - how long you need to plan etc. If you're not prepared to spend that much money, think about where you are prepared to cut costs and set your budget and timeline accordingly. Pick your date and then start looking for a venue, especially if you've chosen a popular time like May - September. Once you have a date and venue, everything else will follow.
Rough guest list to work out numbers make a rough budget and then find venues and book viewing appointments
Hi there Congratulations. We started by looking at numbers of guests, then we did some research on venues and how much they charge and what they can cater for, decide if you would like to get married in church or have everything in one Venue. Research is the key that will give you a better idea of a rough budget. I put together a list of aprox costs and its always good to over estimate a bit that way its rewarding when things pan out cheaper. Check out some wedding fairs and some venues have open days for weddings. Shop around and the internet and FB is always useful. Good Luck x
Hi have you got a date in mind, look at where a church with reception after or somewhere to have both then contact them
we got engaged feb 25th march 4th we booked our venue now we have to sort the rest. pick a date that your both happy with and go from there, if you don't have an idea of what sort of venue you would like book some viewings and see what fills best for you both, see what dates they have and what deals they can offer. hope that helps. good luck and congratulations xx
Sit with OH and; decide on a budget.
Talk about the type of people you are (all out or shy and reserved or somewhere in the middle) this will help you look for and decide on venues.
Write EVERYTHING down, at anytime ideas come to you write them down so you don't forget.
Write a list; guest list ×2 day evening bridesmaids/flower girls, best man/Paige boys/ushers
ceremony, when, where, how much,
Notice to marry, how much what you need to do and when,
Wedding cars, how many, who for,
Reception, food drinks, what's included in price,
Decorations, top table if you want one, seating plan if you want one,
Flowers, always check what's in season around the time you want to get married, out of season flowers are more expensive
Invites stamps, never forget the stamps
Dresses, for who, sizes, ages, height, their style,
Suits, for who, sizes, ages, height,
Shoes, for who, heals for girls sizes
Jewelry, for who, their styles
Photographer, what do you want, style of pictures, how long for,
Cake, plain or fruit, heirs, white or different.
Music, live band, disco DJ or CDs
That is the list I worked from and I managed to almost completely plan in 6 months, never planed a wedding before.
