Hi all! We're very early in our planning stages for our wedding. Neither of us is religious. We don't have a massive family & neither of us is that fussed about inviting loads of people either. For us the wedding is about us & our son & our love for one another. We'very been toying with the idea of marrying abroad but we're not really sun worshippers so the idea of somewhere like Mexico or Jamaica don't really appeal. Has anyone had a more intimate wedding anywhere else abroad? We've even thought about Gretna Green as would be happy with just the three of us going somewhere & then a small celebration afterwards with close family. Has anyone else done this? Tia x

Santorini, sorento, Tuscany all beautiful places and can cater for small intimate weddings x
I got married in gretna green at the Anvil hall at the start of april, with literally us and our parents there and we then just had a meal and drinks at our hotel afterwards. It was perfect and all about us. Really good prices too so we got to have a lovely honeymoon afterwards too X
I got married in Central Park, New York, and it was absolutely amazing. We went through a company here called American sky/Tropical sky and they sorted everything for us. Getting married here is too much hassle and costs too much money. After our photos which were taken all over New York we then went to the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square for a meal and we loved every minute of it xxx
My brother got married in vagus cos they didnt want a big fuss and wanted a good holiday too xx the good thing with vagus is that there is plenty of things to do inside so you dont worry about the sun too much xx circuscircus even have a theme park if your son is old enough for rides xx

My mum had a small ceremony with ten of us in total and then had a celebration the day after with some family and friends...she didn't go to gretna or leave the country but went to a nice little hotel in whitby called Cross butts and because we were a small party everyone could choose whatever they wanted off the menu even lobster and we had a lovely small private room set up for the meal. It was perfect for what they wanted.
Gibraltar was beautiful

We are getting married in Palma in August. There will be 8 of us in total. We're both catholic so getting married in church, it costs €400. We'll have an amazing family holiday around the wedding. We're going for a meal after the ceremoy followed by cocktails in a bar in front of the marine. So glad we've decided to spend the money on ourselves x
It's quite common to have a small intimate wedding then have a Celebrant another day or same evening to do a wedding celebration ceremony in front of friends and family. Www.artceremonies.co.uk
We went to Lapland at Xmas and a couple took there 3 children and got married at the ice hotel. There pics were amazing x
Why not a small/intimate wedding here of the type similar to that done up to the 1960s - ceremony at c12noon & Wedding breakfast - we do this at our Tudor manor House as do many venues in the Uk.
I got married last month in Cuba it was very intimate and special x
