Have you looked at the 1950s inspired short dresses?

This was my dress. It was an a line style and I just found one that I just felt looked best. I'm a petite 5ft. You can have any dress you want and that you feel like a princess in for your special day as it will be ordered in your size and then altered if a big long. Good luck!

This was my dress, ballgown didn't suit me but A-line did! I had my heart set on a ballgown too so it might be worth trying different styles. Good luck x

I watch "say yes to the dress" constantly, the thing I've learned is a tighter fitting dress with a lace or beaded pattern that goes down the centre of the dress as this leads the eye to go up and down making you look longer/taller is best for a shorter frame.

Any dress you love!! Be confident, there is no right or wrong style. As long as you love it that's all that matters

I'm 5ft 1 and went for an 'A' line dress. They way it hung made me look a little taller and suited my shape and size.

When I went wedding dress shopping I had a picture in my head of what I really wanted as I'm quite short, I thought a slim a line dress would be perfect for my height so I researched dresses in that design. But when I tried that particular dress on, it didn't suit me at all! So I tried a big princess dress and it was perfect! My advice would be try on different designs and Styles x

Whatever you feel most comfortable in :-) try on a few different styles, even ones you think you'll hate, and see how you feel.

I am 5ft - I felt like ball gowns swamped me because I am quite small all over (however seen some other petite ladies looking beautiful in them). I felt like short/tea length dresses made me feel even shorter than I am (again seen some other petite ladies looking lovely in these) and I couldn't walk very easily in a fish tail! In the end went for an A line style - the last dress I tried on after going through over 50 different dresses in the shop! :-)

It's all about what suits you and when you try on 'the one' you'll know :-) Good luck finding your dress and enjoy X

Everyone's shape is different so what suits one might not suit another

Im only 5ft 2 and i had a ballgown dress. I tried on lots of different styles and thought i had found the one which was more of an A-line dress until i tried this one on and then completely changed my mind. It was far too long at the front but they just alter it for you. Good luck!

I'm 5ft and had a mermaid. Was subtle but came out at the knees. Felt it made me look taller.

There's no set style. Go and try on everything you like the look of and surprise yourself. Enjoy! Don't forget, seamstresses are like magicians and can work wonders

Hair, face, body shape, age, height, all these things play a part. I agree with the previous lady, try every style on. I did. I put on the unthinkable. It took me an hour to find my perfect dress. Enjoy shopping.

I am 5 foot 4 and had princess. But it whatever style you want. I'd advise going to a shop and try on all the styles with the height of heel you were thinking of to see which suits you best. That way you can then look further with the style in mind. Wishing you luck. Xx

A line looks great on practically anyone. But you just have to try them on and see what works for you. Don't discount anything!
