It's usually recommend you don't leave it later than 8 months before the event. Some dresses can take up to 6 months to order, the the remaining two months are for any changes or alterations required.

If you buy too early you run the risk of changing yourind and doubt o. The choice of dress can creep in :)

I get married August 2019 too and I'm going to look at dresses tomorrow to get an idea of what I like but won't be buying my dress until next year due to wanting to lose weight xx

I get married in 2 months and I've had my dress since October 2015. I bought bridesmaid dresses this year & flower girls this year. Our suits will be hired so we are currently sorting them.
With my dress I fell in love with it & it fitted like a glove & luckily I don't change much in weight so I was brave & bought it & luckily I love it just as much now as I did when I bought it. A lot of people have said to me that your taste changes so I may find that I don't like it as much closer to the day but luckily that hasn't been the case xx good luck xx

Try wed2b for your dresses. It's an outlet so pay well below what you'd expect. They've got a few shops over the UK and as you buy off the rack they've told me 8-10 weeks...just make sure you have a dressmaker arranged for any alterations.

I bought my dress 2 years before my wedding day because I found one I fell in love with and I knew if I waited I wouldn't find it again or anything better. It's entirely up to you but as a rough guide certain designers can take 9 months to come in.

Bridesmaids I think I found a year before the wedding

Suits I think hubby went and Booked his and the ushers 9 months before the wedding.

I've just bought my h2b's suit and our wedding isn't until September 2018 but he wants a specific colour which isn't as easy to find so bought it when we found it rather than waiting and possibly missing it...
Bought from Marc Darcy online, easy to use website and easy returns and exchange (not that we needed to, the whole suit fit perfectly!)

We get married May next year, I ordered my dress just before Christmas... Bridesmaid dresses all arrived at the beginning of the year.. Which was really helpful because they all love in different places so it's not a rush to try on, gave us lots of time to make changes if necessary and book alterations. The Men are getting their suits in August this year X

I would recommend leaving it as long as possible. The general consensus seems to be about 9 months. Earlier, and you risk changing your mind or losing/gaining too much weight. Definitely do not order a dress that is too small to slim in to. Order the size you are when you try it on, or even bigger. They can easily be taken in

I would buy about a year in advance and then get any alterations done 2 months before. Otherwise you might change your mind or maybe one of your party might lose / put on a lot of weight (or get pregnant) you never know!

Depends where you buy but I'm getting my bridesmaids dresses about 3-6 months before, people can change shape, get pregnant etc and I don't want to find when the time comes I can't get a matching replacement/alter the size enough.
