Following my fiance having a stroke in January we are now on a very tight budget and cannot afford the Wedding we wished and we're planning . We are now looking for ideas for a small intimate wedding or to go somewhere with both sets of parents. Any ideas.

We have downsized our wedding due to my h2b's health too. We have opted for our local registry office and a smaller reception venue that is doing a brilliant offer for us. We have called in favors from family and friends who have offered to help. My advice is look around and see what offers you can find. We have been very lucky x

Find a lovely hotel and go for a private dining experience. Mine is a small wedding but we are doing it in church then on the farm where we live. What about a nice local lub or illage hall a friend o mine did that and it looked really sweet! She arranged it all within months!

Whatever you do, don't mention that its a wedding. That's one way to keep prices down.

Some smaller venues will offer packages. There's a local bar/ restaurant in Aberdeen that's got an offer now for wedding package for to 50 guests etc for £1k. Or try booking for a mid week date.

Either go abroad ...or village hall ...
or a pub = some can be really nice pubs with a conservatory attached or a barn looking type attached to a pub ( saw this afterwards booking a village hall = wish I had spotted it earlier !! )
Let you know I had a dream wedding wish ...but due to costs having the real one we can afford = Important thing is enjoy getting married , your other half getting better ...& then once he's stronger have a wedding blessing renewal a year later to celebrate together .....
Get lots of hydrotherapy in ....warm wishes , love Sarah xx

Why don't you look at hotels that do weddings they can do good package deals to suit you and there's rooms for guests

We had a small intimate wedding then a big reception at night. To be honest the actual wedding and our close family was my favourite bit. Try mid week weddings in the bigger venues, they tend to offer deals.

I'm very sorry to hear about your fiancé, hope he gets better soon. How about Gretna Green? Two of my friends got married there and loved it

Could do it midweek or end of spring season and get a good price that way
