I can't decide on a wedding venue, the ones I have seen are all very different, a zoo, a castle, gardens and a barn. The first 3 all have packages the last is source the suppliers and diy for set up etc. I like all of the them different reasons, the castle has great picture opportunities and food, the zoo is just different and has great photo opportunities, the gardens are beautiful, relaxed and fun. The barn is whatever I choose but would need to get married somewhere else first and I'd have to do alot of work but would be cheaper than the rest. We haven't decided on a budget as we are just going to borrow what we need to if we need to. Any thoughts on how to choose?

Maybe compare by the packages and the price, use the barn as the base and then see how the others compare.

picture your wedding day from start (getting ready) to finish (getting home) and bare these factors in mind before choosing. I chose my venue and then realised how far away my parents house was so my childhood dream of getting ready at their house has now had to change to a hotel bridal suite! xx

Ria be careful thinking the barn option would be cheaper it really isnt, ours has cost hs 12,000 so far and a hotel which i thought i couldnt afford was 8,000! Im kicking myself!!! Its also a lot of planning and organising and very stressful, not for the faint hearted.

Our barn option has worked out fairly cheap so far, but we're not having flowers or a cake, and instead of a catered 3 course meal we're buying in teaparty food from M & S and plating it up ourselves.

Also, the barn comes with tables and chairs as hiring tables and chairs costs a fortune!

I guess if you go with a barn you have to roll with the vintage rustic theme and not worry about getting everything to look polished and perfect!

The zoo sounds super fun, but I have heard horror stories about weddings being cancelled due to escaped big cats, and also loud noises can scare the animals if the zoo hasn't made adequate provisions to prevent this.

And beware of drunken guests trying to take home baby penguins!

I'm visiting 2 more barns, as they are £1k cheaper than the first. I think I would go for a bbq but with pretty tables instead of a 3 course! I'm trying to work out the true cost like Stacey said; and Katherine said it may work out more expensive and is alot of hard work. The zoo and gardens include everything except photoghaper/clothes and not alot of hassle. My worry with the zoo is there are lots of different levels and staires and I would have quite a few small children attending. They had a cheetah escape it's enclosure a few weeks ago! So hopefully it won't happen again!! Chelsey I have been thinking about what you said and I think it is helping with the decision :) So thank you ladies x
