I'm getting married in October and have an appointment with the florist...

I'm getting married in October and have an appointment with the florist on Tuesday. I have printed out pictures of exactly what I want, but the florist has asked me to go in with a figure of what I'm willing to spend. We are on a tight budget, but I'm clueless as to what flowers cost?! So have no idea what to say. I'm after a bridal bouquet with roses & baby's breath, 1 bridesmaid bouquet, 1 mother of the bride buttonhole and 5 men's buttonholes. All with roses. Any idea of what I should be expecting to spend?? Thanks x

Also had roses, but had a Jan wedding so had foam. For my bouquet, table arrangement, 2 mothers corsages and 10 family button holes we paid just under £100. From West Midlands

I was looking at £209 originally but went back with a lower budget and reduced it to £130. I'm having pretty much the same as originally wanted but smaller bouquets x

My florist is doing my bouquet, 6 bridesmaids, 6 buttonholes, 1 corsage and a bouquet for my mum for £250. I'd say about £100 for what you're asking for x

You're on a budget. What can you afford? Then that's what determines what you can have.

I have found the very best way is for you to be honest about your budget. Say what your ideal spend is and then look at the bouquet you like and decide if it is the colour, the shape or the flowers that make it perfect. Then do list in order of preference for the essentials and the florist will advise you of how to keep that within budget and how to make compromises if required. Go in flexible ideally xxx

Everywhere will differ, and depending on quality, size etc. roses are one of the most expensive flowers to have. I went for artificial in the end.

Mine are £80 for bride, £35 for bridesmaid £10 for corsage and £6 for button holes and that's a local florist so I'd say no more than £160 for yours x

For everything I booked I got about 3-4 quotes so I could decide on who to go with rather than just taking the one option.

I am a florist and I'm guessing it's so you have a rough idea or a realistic price and roses are not one of the most expensive flowers, however it depends on the grade, colour and time of year of the wedding. It's just sometimes customer expects lots of arrangements for very little money. Though really she should be able to give you a price. You can always get another quote from another florist to see if her prices are correct. Hope it helps.

I'm in kent and had roses for my bouquet and most of my quotes were around £75. I thought it was really expensive but only place cheaper was places like M&S or John Lewis

Marks and spencer have great bouquet packages for about £130 that would include everything you needed
