Baking soda and water to make a paste, put on your teeth then "wrap" them in tinfoil for an hour then scrub! Or the charcoal toothpaste.

I saw someone say coconut oil and turmeric, havent tried myself yet but apparently they're meant to be really good x

I brought the Oral B kit from my dentist for £250. It was really good. Lots of people still comment that I have nice white teeth without the looking fake.

I've brought the AP24 NuSkin fluoride toothpaste it was £12 use twice a day and I've seen some people's results and they are people I know who have had great results I've only been using a couple of days but already a difference x

There's a toothpaste out that's charcoal based which is amazing! Or other whitening ones that are cheaper and work the same. I personally don't want to waste £200 on a dentist one.

I tried all sorts of 'cheap' alternatives but in the end I paid about £280 for the kit from my dentist. It worked great.

I'm a dental nurse, it's only legal for dentist to carry out tooth whitening this info can be found on the GDC website, it is illegal for beauticians etc to do it. The dentists kits are expensive because they actually work. It's the best way to achieve safe and effective tooth whitening. The ones you can but at the shops are weak and don't always work. Also please please don't use the baking soda trick unless you want to ruin your teeth..! xx

The charcoal toothpaste from holland and barrett does not work and leaves your breath smelling and tasting horrible x

It's something that personally I'd only go to the dentist for. I was watching a programme called good health save money that whitening strips are a possibility... have to pay for a scale and polish then a 14 day course is about £50? X

you should have your teeth cleaned before you have them whitened to get best results any way and as above its only legal for a dentist to carry out actual whitening.
you could get them cleaned to get rid of your staining. ask if your dental practice offers what is usually called airflow/air prophy cleaning. this is an intensive stain removal and will make your teeth appear brighter although will not whiten. some people are happy with this and its alot cheaper for example at my surgery we charge £45 for this and sometimes suggest people try this before whitening.
whitening toothpastes are abrasive are very weak and because being abrasive can attract more staining in the long run xx

I use oral b luxe white perfection toothpaste! Works wonders!

Got mine done at Tesco's, the difference was unbelievable, cost about £75

I have had mine done at the dentist, they have half price Wednesdays and cost me £130. Had to have tooth covers made and had gel to use, worked brilliantly and only have to buy more gel if want it . Don't believe cheap alternatives work to be honest.

I went to a private hygienist. Cost £75 for a "deluxe". It wasn't whitening but was a damn good clean and they looked and felt great.

I swear by the Oral B Luxe White Perfection toothpaste, it's amazing and wouldn't use any other toothpaste now x

Don't use whitening Toothpaste whatever you do ladies! I have erosion on my teeth from years of using it and it actually removes the enamel which eventually makes your teeth lose their natural whiteness.. Definitely go to the dentist for a good polish first then ask your dentist about whitening if you feel you need it x

I paid a total of £270 for a private dental health check, scale and polish, and whitening set from the dentist. It was totally worth it, I personally wanted to have someone qualified keep an eye on what was going on as I didn't want to damage my teeth by whitening them! The results are really good and it's so cheap to continue whitening now x

I had mine whitened at my dentist paid £349 and it's the worst pain I'd ever experienced and I've had teeth out and brace etc previous. I was given gels in a syringe with a mould of my teeth. The sensitivity was tremendous I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy! Buy a good electric toothbrush and some good whitening toothpaste, no pain and soooo much cheaper!!!

I use procoal teeth whitening powder....amazing! This is just a short term thing for me.....I've been told that it won't affect the condition of your teeth but I'm sceptical! I'm using it this week only as my wedding is on Saturday and after using it for 2 days there's a huge improvement xxx

I had zoom home whitening day kit from the dentist and have also tried enlighten whitening at the dentist. Neither caused any sensitivity and it whitened my teeth to the brightest UK shade possible. X
