I don't wear much make up and suffer from a really oily skin. I had my make up trial yesterday and looked unrecognisable, both my dad and h2b think I do my own better. so can anyone please recommend a brand of make up that won't 'melt' please?

I'd go into boots or somewhere and talk to a few make up companies and they'll be able to advise you on what's best and you try them out before parting with what can be a lot of money for make up x

I'm a beauty therapist and have the most oily skin! This is the only product that's worked for me under make up to keep it in place x https://www.murad.co.uk/oil-control-mattifier-spf15

As well as looking for a specific foundation an important place to start with oily skin is a specialist moisturiser. I am a Temple Spa consultant and often recommend moisture matte, one of our best selling moisturisers, as a great base for make up. It's a mattifiying moisturiser specifically for oily skin and doubles up as a primer. Micro sponges help to soak up excess oil produced throughout the day and it really helps your make up stay on. Smells wonderful and goes on like silk, too! A lot of the people I know that used a specific foundation for oily skin have scrapped the foundation, and now use this instead and then any make up they fancy on top. I do recommend a full oily skin skin care regime so if you want you can pm me about this as I have helped quite a few brides out with their wedding skin care, but happy to chat about this in specific as well xx

If u normally don't wear much just do your own I didn't bother with the xtra expense of a make up artist. I've had a few chums who have n ended up looking like drag Queens. .. A good look for clubbing but not on your wedding day... do ur own. At least u know what u like n wat suits u.

Maybe try and get some testers of foundation and have a play about with them? I suffer from the same but found kat von d make up to be really good. Only problem is it's expensive but I use the foundation and use a powder on top, then set it with spray. Don't get shiny face but i like to top up with powder after about 12 hrs of wear.

Dermologica do some amazing matte moisturisers and make up.
I have oily skin as well as dry skin (I know, go figure 🤦‍️) and they were the only thing I've found that balance it all out.

I am the same, but for my wedding I also used younique, and I did my own make up too, stayed on all day, worked a treat x

My makeup artist used nars sheer glow and it was that good I ended up switching to using it as my everyday foundation. It didn't budge all day. I'm not sure how it would react to oily skin, they have a thing on the website and it asks you questions about your skin and the tone etc and then recommend a product that suits. Xx

I suggest using a good primer or a matte moisturiser underneath any base make up. It always makes a huge difference! Make sure is a foundation that's not dewy. Have you thought about using a bb cream and setting powder? I prefer to use bb cream with concealer and setting powder as I have either very oily skin or very dry skin. Being a younique presenter I do use this brand. I feel like its great for all skin types. But you just have to try out what is out there until you find the one that works for you. Happy make up shopping!!

I use mineral powder, bare minerals to be exact. It goes fine with my skin. The other option is to find an artist who does air brush, its sweat/water resistant and doesn't rub off onto clothes etc. I did a wedding a couple of years ago, the hottest day of the year so far and the bride was 'melting' but her face wasn't
If you don't usually wear make up though you might find it abit heavy

Forgot to mention sheer cover is the foundation I use. Its not the cheapest but as i dont wear make up very often this looks nice n natural.. I'm quite pale and use med.

Bare minerals, it's natural and powder based so will keep u matte. My sister is a make up artist and uses it on a lot of brides x

Use the primer by Smashbox. It kept my face shine-free all day and is really lightweight.

I went with Estée Lauder double wear, its full coverage but I think you can get a lighter coverage too! I have to say I was concerned on the price but it's worth it! I actually tested it before I bought by having a sample (they give you a 10 day sample free at a counter if you ask) and I wore it from 7am in the morning, did my normal routing, bath etc and still perfect :) xx

Estee lauder double wear shouldn't budge, but I'm not sure it photographs well.

Don't use double wear unless you use the light it doesn't filter on photos so you always look ghost like! Urban decay setting spray is amazing!

No7 beautifully matte is a good foundation from boots. With some powder ontop, I think it gives a good finish and good value
