Hi, I recently booked my ceremony and wedding venue for next April. How far in advance do I need to buy the dresses for myself and the bridesmaids? Thanks x

I read on Google 6 months this gives you chance to make alterations if need be and to also find dresses they all like and accessories :)

Depends on the dress my wedding is next August and iv just ordered my dress. It takes 6months to come in then you have 3 fittings to make sure it's perfect for the day.

It would be best to start looking now... as finding the dresses and then alterations

I couldnt wait to start looking for my dress and that was last Feb and we get married this July. The bridesmaids dresses were ordered in January which is cutting it fine apparently. So I'd say allow a minimum of 6 months before

Say now it took me three months find the dress then took liked nearly 10 months for dress come fitting and alterations so on all depends on the designer and shop also but say allow your self time also don't go down size go up bridal runs small certain designers do a dress can go in plenty and you be very surprised but you can only let a dress out very little just word off warning their enjoy

The place I bought mine from said a new dress usually takes 6 months to arrive and then they recommend a minimum of 2 fittings. I only had 6 months to plan the wedding so I bought the one I tried on rather than ordering new which meant I got a discount as well, and then I ended up needing 3 fittings nearer to the date.
BM dresses I bought from Debenhams so took them home straight away and just needed to get the length altered :-)

12 months before for yours (it can take up to 6 months to make and ship, and you need time for fittings too),6 months for the bridesmaids

My dress took 6 months to arrive and bridesmaids dresses 3 months. The BM dresses then had to be sent back due to a sizing error (seems had no slack to alter) and then took another 6 weeks to be returned so give yourself as much time as you can x
