We chose our venue because they allow dogs, and our little dog is centre of the world - I gave up work so she would never be alone! Did anyone else have a must, which ment you had to rule out other venues?

The first venue I looked at was stunning until I saw the carpet and curtains were a burnt orange colour. The room was actually set up for a wedding and the table looked lovely but unfortunately didn't distract from the orange I looked at my second venue which wasn't as stunning on the outside but still very lovely with a golf course and a lovely stream and bridge for photos. The room was lovely. Chandeliers with neutral colour carpet and curtains and a new balcony outside too. £2000 cheaper than the first one too so went with that

We had to have some where we could make a quiet corner for our autistic children to escape to if it gets too much...we've planned that little corner more than anything else I think!

We had a few musts which ruled out a lot of venues. I understand your dog choice, I'd have done the same if I had one.

I went to 45 venues... there were a lot of things we just couldn't cope with (so glad its not just me with the carpet thing!!!!) ultimately meant we didnt manage to find a venue in Wales (boo)... but we're in love with our venue and its perfect for us even though wrong side of the bridge. Cant wait!

Hi we did a similar thing - I found out today you also need the registrars permission to have your dog there - im waiting to here back from ours but some regions say no so I would double check x

I don't like chair covers personally so I have to like the chairs of any venues we go to see

I work opposite the registry office and we're forever going to the window to watch the weddings, for that reason I specifically wanted somewhere cut off from civilisation haha so we picked somewhere right in the Cotswold's which literally has no one around, way off the beaten track so we're far away from people who aren't in our wedding party staring at us through the window ;) haha

My dogs are my world too and equally don't go out as much as I used to just so I can spend time with them !! And we based our venue on our dogs .. we chose a small holding farm in the middle of countryside so our babies could be part of our day !! They are our kids so why wouldn't we want our kids at our wedding !! Only dog owners will know ! :P xxx

My fiancé works in events so we wanted somewhere he hadn't worked or where he isn't a recommended supplier. Didn't leave many venues

I understand! Not for the dog (she is our baby too but she would hate such a busy full day!) but for family. My dad has lots of health problems and my brother can get quite overwhelmed so we chose somewhere with a quiet place tucked away where they can retreat for a bit (p.s. Said retreat is a turret so BONUS!)
