How to cancel a supplier nicely? I was really disappointed with their communication over the last year I've been booked with them so I had a few quotes elsewhere and found another supplier I liked much more and seemed a lot more reputable who got back to me really quickly. I've decided to go with the new supplier now. How do I cancel the original supplier without offending them? I know it's only business and they're not my friend but I hate upsetting people! I'm happy to lose my deposit so I'm not too worried about kicking up a fuss!

Say it how it is, ifthey haven't been communicating then say 'I would like to cancel the 'whatever it is' with you due to lack of communication as my wedding is approaching it's made me very anxious as to whether you will supply 'whatever it is' on the day. We have now found a new supplier.' Etc. Don't beat around the bush they need honest feed back x

The best thing you could do is be completely honest with them as they may not realise that their behaviour is an issue and pointing out their failures may help them and their future customers.

I had this problem as well with my Dj for the evening I found a better one with great communication because I hadn't even heard anything off the first one we booked then I found out he's not going to be doing Dj ing anymore after September which is when my wedding is so I'm glad I cancelled with I just told him how it is. When I contacted him he was really short and snippy on the phone anyway before I told him I wanted to cancel so I didn't really feel that bad after good luck with your issue xx

Be hinest with them. They should apreciat it, take it on board and do better in future. Sometimes business dont realise there is a problem until someone tells you x

Just tell them straight. I myself am a supplier and I would just want to be told in a nice way. Also mention that you are aware you are happy to loose the deposit

I've just had to do this because the lack of communication and care was making me nervous, I also turned up for an appointment and she wasn't in which made me ever more worried that she would actually turn up on the day. I was completely honest with her but it didn't go down very well and sent me a rude email back. It's your day and you have to be 100% happy with who you choose. These suppliers just see it as another wedding unfortunately. But I'd be honest x

No need to lie just tell them you are going with another supplier and can you have some deposit back. I had to do this a few times some just ignored me, and other were ok with it. I am very glad i swopped! Better customer service.

Be completely honest and tell them, suppliers would rather u be honest with them rather keeping it all to urself

I did something similar with my florist - horrendous communication and not getting back to me when she said so in the end I found somebody else. I told a little white lie and said as a gift a family member had organised the flowers for me. Rubbish lie but like yourself I hate upsetting people.... they were fine though. And tough if they weren't 😂
