I have just found out that I'm pregnant and due right around my wedding date...

I have just found out that I'm pregnant and due right around my wedding date (perfect timing) Iv already ordered my fitted fishtail dress. Do any brides have any pics of them heavily pregnant in this style of dress...as how it's going to look etc is stressing me out. Thanks

I didn't have a fishtail but just got married at 7.5 months pregnant and wore my corset style dress for the ceremony and photos and then changed into a floaty Grecian style dress for the rest of the day so I was comfortable. I wouldn't change the day for the world
It was amazing
Good luck

I think it could still look really beautiful but might not be the most comfortable style to wear while heavily pregnant. X

I would double check that dress is able to be altered drastically to fit as I know mine wouldn't be able to, it would have to be made totally different. Or atleast enough to get it taken out if it's stretchy :( Pregnant brides do look stunning tho so don't worry about that!

I wore a fishtail dress, whilst beautiful and somewhat comfortable I could not imagine wearing that style dress whilst heavily pregnant. As on your special day, you want to be comfortable. As you say you have ordered your dress, is it possible for you to change your order to another dress?

I would delay the wedding if you're due around that time. What would you do if the baby came early? You could be in labour on your wedding day

Depends on how big you get. I was only small framed but put on almost 5 stone when pregnant so a fishtail dress would have looked awful x

I'm sorry to say, but if you're due around the time of your wedding date, you need to consider postponing the wedding. Pregnancy can be very difficult on some women and you just don't know which way you're going to go. Also, planning a wedding AND getting ready for a baby are two very big tasks that are costly and can be stressful. If you postpone, you don't need to worry about the dress being altered. But if you don't, I would recommend getting a different dress. I've made wedding dresses and to alter a mermaid style dress to accommodate your bump will be very difficult. And I don't know that it would be very comfortable either. Late in pregnancy it gets harder and harder to sit with your legs together, and being constricted around the bump could be quite uncomfortable. You may also be feeling very fed up, sore and tired. I too postponed my wedding, for different reasons, but it was very hard to do, so I really understand if you really don't want to. I just think it would be easier on you. Wishing you all the best xx

You should maybe postpone it a month or two. What if you give birth before your wedding? You'll be sore and won't feel like celebrating, also you might not be able to get it altered again in time for the wedding. Or you could end up missing the wedding completely if your baby chooses to come on that day so you'd lose all your money xx

What if you go into labour on your wedding day!!

I'm in a very similar situation, I would have been 8 months but we moved the wedding forward instead! Xx

I planned to get married this April, it was the time me and my partner got together..... guess who's arriving in April we just said nope to the wedding for now and will get on with planning when I'm feeling ready to and back in shape - so another two years or so!!

I can tell you now, this is my second and the first time wasn't so bad although the last month really takes it out of you, so so much. This time I was ready for him to come out beginning of the third trimester! ;) xx

I had my baby 5 weeks early so my opinion would be to bring it forward 2 months or delay 2 or 3 months x

Never mind the dress I agree with these ladies. Having a baby can turn you into an emotional puddle, as can a wedding so both at once would be intense. Babies don't like stressed mommas so unless you are incredibly chilled that's a thought. Also, since babies don't always read the book and (god forbid) complications can occur, do you want to risk cancelling your wedding (and losing all that money) at the last minute?

Look at ljholloway photography (based in Las Vegas) but has the most amazing photographs of pregnant women in long dresses :)

I don't but I do have a pick of me in my dress from my wedding on saturday. It's from a website from Tiffany rose (British company) that specialise in maternity bridal and formal wear. I felt a million dollars and everyone said it was a perfect dress for the circumstances! I am 33 weeks here too! X

I'd postpone for a few months if I was you, obv it's your choice and pregnancy might be fab for u but it can also be horrendous for some ladies, it's worth it in the end but for me my first was brill didn't even feel pregnant etc but my 2nd pregnancy was awful got spd, sick daily, just pure worn out theirs no way I could have even thought of planning something else aswell, im sure whatever u decide will be fine just don't overdo it. I'm getting married in 2 weeks and will be 21 weeks pregnant.. I'v had to have my dress altered from a fit and flare to empire to accomodate the bump, its had bones taken out, holes cut underneath for bump and modesty pannel in the back removed! and even that is still not 100% comfortable! Trying to juggle planning the wedding and pregnancy at once has been hard work, it's only because we'd changed the date 3 times already to work around ivf that we decided to stick to the date and get on with it but it's been difficult! If my baby was due at time of wedding I'd bring it forward or postpone x

Babies don't always come when expected my son was born 15 weeks early! That was a shock personally I'd wait.

Being heavily pregnant right now I would recommend getting a different dress as u could get your dress altered once but on the day it might to late if bump has grown a little more and dress no longer fits.... As For changing the days id only do so if your wedding takes place the within the last 5 weeks of your pregnancy as at that point baby can go at any time or complications might occur and you need an early birth

I'd be rescheduling my wedding. Too much stress for me personally.
