I am doing my own make-up for my wedding which I feel confident and happy doing. However does anyone have any recommendations of good long lasting make up that gives good coverage?

I will be doing my own makeup to, and I only use a rimmel foundation and swear by it. Lasts all day and all night, covers belmishes and spots really well without having to cake it on! I also use a translucent rimmel powder over the top so you don't get a shine. Cheap and simple and works for me! I've tried many foundations throughout the years and always end up sticking with the rimmel! Its 12 or 24 hour one. Hope you find one that suits you!

It really depends on your skin etc as some products can be great for one but not work with your skin at all. I would go and do some testing at counters :) that way you'll know what you like the look of and also the feel of on your skin.xx

Nars sheer glow is a good one for wedding Make Up it's best for normal to dry skin so depends on your skin type. Medium coverage but buildable and cruelty free :) The key is to get a really good primer though. Laura Mercier or Urban decay are quite good brands for that. And find a good setting spray. Again, urban decay are good for that :) for lower end products try collection or Barry M :) xx

Make a few trips to Boots/John Lewis/House of Fraser and have your makeup done at several different counters. Go in the morning so you can get a good idea of how each one lasts throughout the day. Then you can decide which products are right for you. This is what I'm planning to do. I will probably spend more on products than I would just having a pro do it on the day, but at least I have the products to use again afterwards.

i did my own makeup, i really researched what foundations are full coverage and good for my skin tone. i am dry to combination skin and found that the Make Up Forever HD Stick was perfect for me. it retails at debenhams for around £26-£29 but you can only buy online or in store at Oxford Street London Store.

whichever foundation you use, make sure you use a translucent setting powder and a really good setting spray to keep your make up flawless all day! don't cake yourself otherwise you'll feel uncomfortable! But make sure you do your research and practice all the time! get up early one day and see what happens during the day to see the lasting effect. also try it in different weathers and make sure you get your look down to a T. when applying your make up, wear a white top so that you can make sure you blend accordingly. and lastly, GOOD LUCK!

Get something with no spf even face cream it creates flash back an will make you pale.
Benefit mascara there real is waterproof and amazing.
Urban decay dat ab night is great but does oxides an can dry up on bad skin patches
I would say go round getting samples of foundation and seeing how you get on with it.

Make sure you do an excellent skin regime leading up to the wedding. Definitely get a decent primer, I swear by benefit porefessional it's like silk and doesn't budge, you don't have to buy a huge tube you can get a little sample and it'll last ages. I also use benefit foundation but it's truly dependent on how heavy you want it etc

Definitely do a make up trial on yourself a few weeks in advance ! X

I did my own for my sisters wedding I used bare minerals. Can easily build the coverage and it's so lightweight and flash photography friendly!

Foundation I TOALLY would go with Estée Lauder Double Wear. I had a doctor try to take it off and he was amazed at how hard he had to work! If there's any chance of tears this stuff won't show a thing!

Urban Decay Setting Spray is a miracle product!! A light mist over your face after applying your make up keeps it in place all day and night! I was recommended this before my wedding and now I couldn't live without it!!

I swear by Smashbox primer. When I heard people talking about it I wasn't convinced (Especially considering its around £20!) but I cant imagine not using it under concealer/foundation. It smooths over larger pores and makes make up last a thousand times longer!

I swear by estee lauder double wear. I put the primer in first and then the foundation. You can get a setting powder too. If it can stay on after an eight hour shift at a restaurant and an hour gym session straight after I'm sure it will last for your wedding! Also I have really sensitive skin and it's probably the first foundation I've used that doesn't cause breakouts x x x I'd stay away from younique personally because I found it went shiny very quickly x

You need a good Base so a decent primer like smashbox, and depending on the coverage and look you are going for I'd say go and browse the counters, I prefer MAC but it's not everyones cup of tea, can go for trials in there and redeem the money back on products for you day.. I would purchase decent nice makeup as it is your special day... To finish your look and keep makeup in place use a setting powder x
