how do I include my brother to the wedding? He's my only sibling. My dad will be doing the usual things dads do and he can't be part of the groomsmen/usher party as my h2b has 3 people doing that already. Any ideas would be appreciated as I don't want him to fade into the background, thank you
Get him to do a reading or be a witness x
Master of Ceremonies?
Get him to announce you and your new hubby into the wedding breakfast xx
My brother is my witness, thays a nice thing to do x
I had my brothers as my witnesses. It's kinda nice that they will forever be on my marriage certificate. X
The 4th Usher
My brother and his girlfriend were our witnesses xxxx
Why can't he be an usher? There's no limit on how many you can have. We've got a best man, 2 groomsmen, 3 ushers (one of which is a female) and our two young nephews will be standing with the older male ushers.
We also had our brothers as a witness, 1 brother on each side so made sense
Unfortunately my mum or dad wasn't here for my big day so i had my brother and my son walk me down the aisle and they both did me proud x
My brother is one of the groomsmen for us and my other half has his best friend as his best man and 5 of his other friends as groomsmen xx
I would just make him an usher as 3 isn't a huge amount. Or he could be a witness x
My brother was usher (my husband had 6 and I ha 4 bridesmaids) and he also read at the wedding
Ask him to be a witness or write a speech
Our son played his clarinet at our wedding maybe if he has a talent that works for a wedding he could do that?
Bridesman, usher, or witness.
My brother done a reading for me at my wedding xxx
Be your witness
Do a reading
A brother and sister dance
My brother was one of my husbands groomsmen.. and helped my side of the family etc xx
Witness is a good idea
I had my brother who is 13 walk my 4 year old flower girl down the aisle as she was a bit shy .. if you can't do that then have a bridesman..? X
My brother is playing the piano as I walk down the isle x
I'd suggest a witness if he's over 18 - if not ask him to do a reading?
I've got my brother as my 'man if honour'. He was a groomsman, but there's loads of them! He's my only sibling too :-) I have 5 bridesmaids and then him. He doesn't have to come/organise any hen dos etc but on the day he's my go to man to get people sorted and keep peeps in check!! he's making a little speech too. He was so happy when I asked him. Another thing I had thought about was asking him to be a witness. Xxx
My 'big Brother' gave me away
(Mam and Dad no longer here) :-)
A reading is a good idea. That way he is part of the ceremony which will be special.
We did a candle lighting in the ceremony, so our mums could be a part of it, ask your registrar of this may be possible... it was a lovely little way to include them xx
My brother was a groomsman & signed the register as my witness :) x
Witness or 4th Usher, both families should share.
I agree. Four ushers would be perfect - in the church or for the ceremony there can be two on the bride's side and two on the groom's side.
Could he be the ring bearer and look after the rings. X
My brother is usher, but if not an option maybe have him as a witness or doing a reading?
My brother was a groomsman but he also did a reading and was our master of ceremonies as he has got the loudest voice ️. X
Mine was my driver. And he did a fantastic job at it too!
A bride man instead of a bridesmaid maybe x
I'm lucky my H2B had no issue having him as a groomsman, in fact it was set in stone before he chose his own. My bro means too much to me not to have as he's my only sibling. If it means that much to you, then talk to your H2B about what role you want for him and surely you can work it out?
bride's man. :)
My brother was in the same suits as the groom best man and ushers and dads, and he was my witness
Usher? Read a poem or words about you? X
My brother is going to be our ring bearer xx
My brother was our witness xx
Can my dad and my brother walk me down the aisle? Looking at getting married abroad next April
Master of Ceremonies / Toastmaster or get him to do a reading x
To give you a way to
