I sent mine out 6 months before. But you could send out save the dates before. I included venue, time, menu choices if you are having one. hotel information if they needed one and r.s.v.p post cards. Xx

they say at least six months before but it depends on where your wedding is :) we got married in july 2016 and sent our invites out in november 2015 to be rsvps back for april 2016 due to our wedding being in holiday season and us living/getting married close to a seaside resort :) and with my family having to travel needed them to book hotels etc nearby before they got booked up :) also you need details of venue, rsvps, names of those your inviting stated clearly, date time etc, menu if your having a sit down meal and either a poem or list of gifts you are wanting x

I'm sending save the dates in August 2017 cause of it being the holiday period then my invites jan/Feb time cause I need them back at least 8 weeks before wedding (venue wants numbers and food choices 6 weeks before wedding) x

Have you thought about sending save the dates 1 year in advance?

We sent 'save the dates' 1yr before. We've sent invites 6mnths before, given a respond by date 4months before. Invites incl details on date/time location. we included information on location, transport and accommodation and a statement for 'gift list'. plus the RSVP. If you google wedding invites you will soon see what you want to include in your invites :)
