Has anyone ever had a round top table instead of the traditional long table...

Has anyone ever had a round top table instead of the traditional long table at the wedding breakfast? If so did you like the way it looked and did it work well? Thanks x

I am having one but can't tell you how it would look. I went to a wedding where they had one and it made everyone equal which was nice. We are using this idea as otherwise our top table would be lopsided or we'd have to split people up x

Our venue does an Oval top table, it's 2 of the standard rounds with an insert between them to make 1 big table so it still has everyone on one side like the typical layout but it curves round so the people on the ends are facing inwards and you can see everyone better... I just think it's a bit more sociable than having everyone in a line

I used to work in a hotel and there was quite a few that had this. They didn't want people sat staring at them while they were eating etc. It seemed to work well. There were no negative comments xx

We had an oval top table and we were positioned so no one had their back to everyone else. It worked well and was nice to not be in a straight line as you could talk to everyone on the table X

I've been to a few weddings that had it this way, the bridal party sat at a round table in the middle, it looked lovely, my dad was really ill and we weren't sure if he would be able to attend, my h2b's dad passed yrs ago so we decided on a round table among our guests if my dad can't make it, I don't want a top table with both dad's missing and my mum cos she won't leave my dad, if he can make it, we going with the top table for tradition sake x

Had that at a wedding I attended a few years ago. Worked fine but was for a small less formal and non-traditional wedding.

We had an E shaped table with the 'top table' being the long straight of the E and guests off the arms, but only 36 people in total

Not the greatest pic but all our tables were round. Our top table was in middle of room backing onto fireplace. We sat in front of fireplace then had rest of top table sat in general order as in long top table just went in a circle instead of a line. X

This is what we are having. Can't stand the idea of looking over everyone and having everyone looking at us eat! Really wanting to be in the middle of everyone so having all round tables :)

I was speaking to our photographer last night and she was saying the oval table made it very difficult to take pictures of the speeches as other people's heads are always in the background x

We did, it worked really well. Meant we still had our top table but it wasn't so formal and we didn't feel so on show.

Yep we did as we didn't really have anyone to go on a top table so preferred a round one. Much more sociable too x

We had a circle top table. We were in the middle of the room with other tables around us. It looked great and I like I could see and talk to everyone on the table easily

Emma Alice Howes. What do you think about round top table? A lot of positive comments. Maybe worth a thought. X

We did. We only had 30 guests so had 3 large tables. Top table was our parents, kids and us. Worked just fine.
