These things really helped us out:
1. Start a separate savings account for your wedding fund- don't try to save it within an existing account.
2. When you have money left over each month transfer what's left straight in before it disappears.
3. Get a spreadsheet going on how much you are spending/ how much you owe.
4. Work backwards- depending on when you hope to get married how much can you save per month? That is therefore what you can spend (unless family helping).
5. Whatever happens, get wedding insurance. You're more likely to need it than you might think. It's worth the money!
Good luck x

We set rough budgets on what we wanted to spend, worked average what we needed to save.. put that in a 'wedding account'(another savings account) and any left over at the end of the month we throw in aswell. Has worked great for us and we are saving more than we need now :)

Every time we wanted to book something we found out the price and then paid it in full. We made payments to the venue every month. We get married in August this year and all but £1000 for the venue has been booked and paid for in full xx

Budget, take extra shifts, take ab additional job. I'm working 2 jobs and cutting down on any luxuries to save for my wedding. Just think do you need it. If it's a no don't buy it and put the money towards the wedding. I've also sold items on ebay that I no longer need x

make everything yourself ie invites table decs etc dont go to a big hotel go for a church/registry office then either a pub/village hall with disco :) we had a church ceremony then straight to the local village hall for reception we did all the decs, food all ourselves we had afternoon tea then buffet in evening what was left from the afternoon tea was used for the buffet :) we did our own sweet trolley and had a disco in evening :) we also had a ice cream van come while my mum turned the hall around a bit for evening :) our photographer charged us £170 for photos at church before and after asked him to only edit a few as we could edit them ourselves plus wanted all on a memory stick n they were the only photographers in my area who listened to what we wanted :) our whole wedding came just under £5000 with my dress being the most expensive at £1150 :) x

We worked out what we could afford per month, added my family money to it then budgeted from there. Then when we have been able to save more, or saved from something we estimate we just gigged the budget a bit to match. Also added a column called "spare" so could see if we are saving more than need to

Be sensible with your money and budget and stuck to that budget. Get crafty and DIY, involve family and friends if they have any talents too. Ask around for help and you'd be surprised how many want to get involved.

We opened a bank account and we both put a certain amount in each month. It soon adds up! Just don't be tempted to dip into it! X

Set up a list of items using do instance the confetti online list, add a budget price to each and to side add an actual costs Column so you can track it as you go. As for saving I've budgeted how much I need per month and saving that. Im £1500 short but that doesn't take into account any spare money we put away and the good old £2 coin stash. Works out I'm putting £400 out of my wage a month and then any left overs.

We saved all our £5 notes and £2 coins in one of those jars that you can't get into. Did it for 18 months and had £1200 for our honeymoon spends xxx

I worked out how much we could save each month, then how long it would take save how much we needed, then we could look at dates xx

We used uk wedding savers to help us get a venue cheaper than it's normal price! They are amazing! We are saving any £10 and £5 notes and created a seperate account for the wedding. There's also a website called papier that do beautiful invites very cheap! X

We set up a joint account to use as a savings account until we're married! I also am squirrelling away money when I get a spare few £ into a hidey hole my fiancé doesn't know about or he'd have it spent!

My partner is level headed and didn't want to go in to debt to get married. We're getting married in 2019 and have been saving since May. We worked out what we could save to give me an end budget. I have every cost in at an estimate and then actual cost, and any deposits paid to give remaining to pay x

I've made a side savings account with my bank with a direct debit that automatically takes out a set amount on the first of every month, just after I get paid, and any I have extra at the end of the month I'll transfer over too. Then every so often I'll swap it into another account where I def can't touch it. Lol its worked well so far!
