Does anyone have any tips on getting in to shape? They have ordered my dress in the size that I am now and we have a year to go so there is no massive pressure but I am a very fussy eater and have 3 very young children meaning that I don't have a lot of free time to look after myself. I'm finding that the more I try to watch what I'm eating, the more I'm thinking about food and the hungrier I feel!
Maybe just replace certain 'bad' foods with good, easy/quick replacement options? I always hear that preparation is the key with food.
I've just got davina's 2 books - one on sugar free and another on carbs! Once you're into a new routine with what you can replace bad foods with it should be quite good and easy to follow?
If not, trying home workout DVD is always good? You've got a long time yet and maintaining the same weight for a year can be hard! I got to my weight to where I needed for my dress, and now am on a relaxed eating diet but will step up 2 months before the wedding!
As a part-time bellydance instructor with a full-time job as well, whenever I want to lose weight I cut out refined sugar and snacking between meals (mmm, biscuits) and also do 10-15 minutes of core strength yoga every morning before work (I'll post one of my favourites below). Otherwise I eat my normal 3 meals a day - you get used to the lack of sugar after the first couple of weeks. I find that, even in my 30s, I still lose about 1" per month off my waist until I'm down to 28". Hope that helps! xx https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6Wt9CFb-4s&list=PLd5ROQXfOoC1kM2g0ntdtay1FSTDD0Sz1&index=1
Try slimming world
I'm a fussy eater and I've never ate so much and lost weight
No sacrifice on my naughty treats either I've lost 8lb in 4 weeks
I allow myself to eat as many fruit or veg as I like as it's good sugars and good vitamins. But on your plate I try to have 1/4 carbs 1/4 meat protein. That's when I am trying to get into shape.
Slimming world is amazing - I've lost 4 stone since last May and have never felt deprived of anything. My friend is an extremely fussy eater and managed to get to her target weight pretty quickly :)
Five small healthy balanced meals a day.. Lots of water, and some exercise and it will happen!
I started trying to eat better and go to the gym when we set our date (April/May last year) and we get married in September this year. I've managed to slowly lose 3 stone in that time. I attempt to go to the gym twice a week but it doesn't always happen due to other commitments. I switched to lighter butter, baked crisps, weight watchers/low fat biscuits, healthy living ready meals generally tried to make healthier choices. I still have a take away about once or twice a month, I still eat pizzas but get children's ones and eat it with salad, still drink full fat coke :p You don't have to give up everything! Portion sizes was a big one for me so I try and weigh out one portion of things like pasta and rice. I haven't read any diet books or gone to any groups but I'm doing just fine. My other half is super slim and doesn't need to loose weight so it can be hard trying to eat well when you live with someone who wants to eat what he wants but we manage! I just try and get him to buy sweet treats for himself that I don't like so I'm not tempted!

The 8:16 diet - eat during 8 hours and nothing after. Egg breakfast at 9, lunch at 1, tea at 5. Drink tea coffee, water etc during your 16 hours but you ensure you burn what you've eaten. It's the same as 5:2 in principle but no need for fasting days which isn't possible with littlies. cut down sugar and track using an app on your phone (smasung have one built in) it counts steps and add all your food. You'll see a good picture of what you're doing and need to do. Set your targets for steps and calories and you should sheet improvements.
Get a fit bit. Nothing too hard about it but makes you aware of what your doing and you want to better yourself week on week. You can also track what you eat and lets you know if you've ate more calories than burnt. I've had it since xmas and really like it. And started couch 2 5K. 30 mins exercise 3 times a week. Manageable.
I love slimming world. You never go hungry. Im also quite a fussy eater so instead of making there meals i just kept it simple. Iceland stock the slimming world ready meals too, great for if u havent much time. Xx
I'm a really fussy eater as I don't eat fruit, veg or salad and my down fall is fizzy pop, bread and cheese. I just cut out all my fizzy pop and drank plenty water and swopped the bread with crispbakes, couldn't handle not eating cheese, lost 2stone in 4months. Might have took a while but that one small change made all the difference xx
I did the 5: 2 diet where you eat normally for five days and fast with just 500 calories for two days. I love it and am continuing with it, even though I got married in September. You can choose which days you fast, you can still eat what you want otherwise, so you don't feel like you're missing out and if you have a party or something you can just fast on another day! The first three weeks are hard - you are so hungry you could eat anything, including your partner, but after that your body gets used to it! It teaches you that we do eat far too much really and re-educates you how to recognise when you are hungry!
Slimming world, fitbit and couch to 5k.
If you have small children what are you feeding them. Eat the same that way you should all be eating healthy
I can't diet to save my life I really struggle to eat well. At my heaviest I was a size 16, I did Jillian Michael's 30 day shred for a year and lost far too much weight through exercise and ended up a size 6. I'm now a size 10 and get married in 10 weeks and have just started the 30 day shred again. Not as obsessive this time though, just to be a comfortable size 8/10 for my wedding. I would highly recommend it though as it is only 20 minutes a day so great to do when kids are in bed.
If it's the size you are now you really don't have much to worry about. You'll have a final fitting a couple weeks before the wedding. However if you want to drop a few pounds or just look after yourself a bit then I try and prep as much as you can. Don't tell yourself you can't have anything, just try to make sure you're not letting yourself get hungry. I always eat rubbish when I've not eaten properly all day.
I tried insanity a few years ago and it's really great! It's very extreme but the concept will work at any level. It comes with a meal plan book which you can find on the internet. The basic concept is to work out the number of calories (with split of carbs, protein and fat) you NEED each day and stick to that. have three balanced meals and two snacks a day. They have meals planned out for you but really you can tailor it to what you like. You can even factor treats into it. This type of meal plan is the most healthy way to lose pounds- or maintain. You just need to make sure you can prep your meals so you don't have chance to cheat. I used to prep 3 days at a time in an hour or so. so it was really easy. If you can do some exercise you'll really see a difference and notice toning, which of course will change your shape but not necessarily weight. But weight doesn't really matter anyway. Good luck
I've ordered some workout dvds and gonna try and walk instead of taking the car where possible and swap the bad stuff for healthier options. I love my food so won't be dieting as such! Will see what happens!!
Take a look at The Body Coach for grateful HITT exercises that'll fit into your schedule :-)
Diet chef or Jane plan is a great option if you have little ones and a busy schedule. You choose 28 days worth of food - breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks - online and it's delivered to your door. It works, it's easy and with a little gentle exercise thrown in (walking to the shops, taking the stairs etc) you can lose up to 2lbs a week - that's a stone in 7 weeks!
Do not diet - the diet industry actually makes you fat! You might loose weight for a while but ultimately you will just carry more fat and wreck you health physically and mentally. Have a look at the rebelfit page on Facebook. Look up workouts on YouTube you can do at home in short bursts. Take the stairs. Walk rather than bus or car for short journeys. Don't deny yourself cause you will want junk food even more. Trust your own instincts and love yourself xx good luck!
I joined Slimming World 7 weeks ago and have lost 12lb already. 😊
Its not a diet but a lifestyle change and you can eat so much and not deprive yourself either! That, coupled with walking as much as I can, is a really good start! 😊
I've signed up the The Body Coach 90 day sss, i don't have any massive pressure either but wanted the motivation to eat well and tone up so I feel my best in my dress and on honeymoon, about half way through and am feeling great and seeing changes :) xx
