I have found my dream venue and it will mean guests would have to travel 30 mins. I’m prepared to put transport on for evening guests as it’s not easy to get taxis home however I am getting a lot of pushback from a few people saying to keep it local at the local rugby club or workman’s club or they won’t come. I’ve said from beginning it will not be where we live but the pushback is intense and really upsetting me. How would you overcome this pushback ?

If people can’t be bothered to travel to your wedding then you shouldn’t bother paying for them to come! Planning a wedding really shows who your really friends and family are. It’s nice enough you’re prepared to organise transport! 30 minutes is nothing, if people can’t be bothered to put the effort in, they shouldn’t even be invited. If it’s because they can’t afford it, I’m sure they knew about the wedding months in advance so could save (eg not have that take away every week)!
If your wedding is not their priority and they just want a night out… you shouldn’t be sacrificing your perfect day for those sorts of people :)
