Wedding Ring Metal/Material

I am trying to find out what metal is best for my boyfriend/fiancée’s wedding ring. I want a silver/white gold coloured ring that isn’t easily scratched or marked, even after years of wearing. He is a yard worker but will not be wearing to work. His preference is a ring with a matte finish. We have been looking at rings with H Samuel as this is where my engagement ring (white gold) was brought and where I will be getting my wedding ring (also white gold). My ring is £250, the reviews are great and it’s a beautiful ring that looks stunning with my engagement ring. Our budget is at most £500.
