I should be getting married next saturday but it has been postponed due to covid. I still want to do something as I don't just want it to be a normal day, what has everyone else done on their original wedding date if they have had to postpone?

Ours was meant to be in May. We sat in our wedding attire and video called our families. Then had a fancy takeaway (not in our attire!)

UKbride Member 16 Oct 2020

Had a take away and prayed for rain to make me feel better!

UKbride Member 16 Oct 2020

We had a bottle of Prosecco and a fancy picnic in the garden

Our original date was during the first few weeks of the proper lockdown so we couldn't do much. We did a zoom with our parents and siblings to share a toast and then got a takeaway. We would have probably gone out for a meal instead of the takeaway if it was possible though.

Mr and Mrs quiz on zoom with your bridal party

Ours was supposed to be next Saturday too, it's also our 5 year anniversary so we are spending the night in our venue and taking a cake and some bubbly. We can have a nice meal and a relax in the spa. We both also turn 30 in December so we have a similar plan for that too since we can only spend it with each other, it has made us realise that we are definitely made for each other as we don't mind at all!

My cousin pushed her date, and on her original day she had a cake, made their wedding menu and got photographer to capture the celebration

UKbride Member 16 Oct 2020

We went for dinner at our venue and stayed the night. I wore a white playsuit!

UKbride Member 16 Oct 2020

I’ve seen that some people are doing photo shoots - not in their full gear but a light coloured dress and a casual lounge suit or similar.

UKbride Member 16 Oct 2020

We went to our venue and had afternoon tea, then had a movie and takeaway night. It was genuinely a really lovely day

UKbride Member 16 Oct 2020

I had an orgy with the guests

UKbride Member 16 Oct 2020

Ours was meant to be in June, we did a beach day with with some friends

UKbride Member 16 Oct 2020

We sat in our parents front gardens (social distanced) drunk champagne, laughed and danced... our wedding was 2 weeks after the first lockdown so not too exciting but great memories xxx

Cleaned out a fishpond and had a bbq with my nan, mum dad and brothers 🤣 went home, drank loads of wine and had really good sex, we also asked relatives to send us pics of them raising a glass to us so that at some stage, I can add everyone's photos to my original guest book, whatever you do, you can make it special, just make sure it focuses on the two of you xx

We went away for the night and opened champagne when we were supposed to get married. Our family and friends also send us a beautiful video with messages. All rescheduled for next year 🤞🏼

Ours was july. We gave eachother cards and gifts on the morning and went for breakfast out. We then spent the day together with family catching up after lockdown (we would have been with family if we got married anyway) then in the evening we went out for a meal and came home to a bottle to share with a film. I also suprised h2b with a cake (mainly so we could use our cake topper with the date on) and some ballons. I also printed some pictures off of us over the years and made them into posters/banners and put them up around the house and on the front door x
Ive also made a memory box of the day aswel 😊 it was a lovely day considering the obvious x

I've had to rearrange mine 3 times this year im absolutely devastated and heartbroken, I just don't have it in me to book again yet xxx

UKbride Member 16 Oct 2020

We had to cancel ours in June and were supposed to be getting married tomorrow but had to cancel until next June. We are just have a nice meal

UKbride Member 16 Oct 2020

We were meant to get married 3rd October, it's a special date for me. So rebooked for same date next year. On 3rd October this year I was tearful during the day but we booked a table at a lovely restaurant and just agreed next year will be better cos more time to plan more things. It's all about taking the positive from the negative right now 🙂. Good luck and keep positive x

We dressed up in inflatable t-rex costumes and had a dino wedding in april! We are now getting married tomorrow!!!

UKbride Member 17 Oct 2020

We’ve had to rearrange our wedding 4 times I’m so upset and frustrated about it all. We just let the days pass by and I was gutted and don’t even know if we’ll be able to do the wedding we planned for next year what with it being in March.

UKbride Member 17 Oct 2020

We did promise rings in a special place. We were supposed to get married on 10th Oct, and have now pushed it by 2 years to hopefully allow the pandemic to pass. We wanted to make the 10th Oct a special day as we had waited 2 years already, so we will remember it as our promise day 🙂

UKbride Member 17 Oct 2020

I know a few people that are the meal they would have had at their wedding. You could write your own ore wedding vows and say them to each other on the day. Or even book a pre wedding photoshoot and get all dressed up together 💖
Sorry, this is a difficult time for so many. We also had to postpone our own wedding
Sending love to all

UKbride Member 17 Oct 2020

We are having a photo shoot with our photographer in the park where we got engaged, and then going out for meal at the restaurant where we had a first date.

UKbride Member 17 Oct 2020

Enjoy your day together.X

UKbride Member 17 Oct 2020

We did a handfast over zoom with our family and friends

UKbride Member 17 Oct 2020

A friend of mine had a mini wedding with just the two of them at home. Did a little pretend ceremony like you did when you were kids, made a nice meal, cut a cake, had a first dance and then spent the rest of the day getting drunk on prosecco. She loved it.

UKbride Member 18 Oct 2020

We have rearranged 2 x now first time in May ordered an afternoon tea with champagne 🍾 on next date we are doing hopefully the unlimited brunch in turtle bay 😀

UKbride Member 21 Oct 2020

Ask a humanist celebrant to do a mini-ceremony on zoom with you and then book them for the real thing at a later date!
