Hi I am looking for some clarification around who is included in the number...

Hi I am looking for some clarification around who is included in the number 15. Does the vicar, verger and organist count? As they won't be coming to the reception sit down meal can they be replaced with other guests to make the number up to 15 again? I'm getting married in 3 weeks Thanks

Anyone who works at the venue/venues do not count in the 15. However, yourselves as the couple do.

Nope just bride groom and guests

We got married at the end of August, you have to include the registrars/photographer/anyone else who does not work at the venue so yes an organist too. And yes you can replace with other guests for the reception. X

At a venue, anyone who is not included in the venue staff for example 2 registrars and photographer all count in that 15

Sorry for jumping on post. I’m wondering the same but for registrars at an approved venue. As 1 of them is only doing the paperwork do they actually have to be in the room?!

Anyone paid is not included in the 15. You can have 13 guests and the couple to make 15 people in total.

I get married in 5 weeks my venue has said anyone who is working is not included in the number so bride groom and 13 guests

We got married on the 11th of July and the number included the photographer, vicar, clergy and organist xx

I got married in July and I had to count the minister and the photographer. Just as well my minister is my father in law!!! 😂😂 good luck and have the best day. I loved our wedding even though I wasn’t wearing my wedding dress and we were outside in Scotland!!!

There is a lot of different information on this for some reason. The guidelines state it is the couple & 13 guests with the only dance allowed being the couples 1st dance. However, I was told by the registry office that the 2 officiants & photographers count towards the limit bringing the maximum to the couple plus 10 guests. This was also repeated to me by 2 of the venues we were touring. It is the reason we postponed our wedding for a third time 🤦🏻‍♀️

We got married in August and had to include the 2 registrars, DJ, and photographer. Your best bet is to check with the local council as to their rules, which is what we did to be sure. Good luck, I hope your day is just as you hoped x

I got married yesterday in a registry office and it was us plus 13.....anyone embed by the venue doesn't count.

Any suppliers abd registrars vicars dont count. So 13 guests and bride and groom, we get married next week 😁

UKbride Member 12 Oct 2020

No they don't count towards the numbers but it is different for each area so check with your venue

UKbride Member 12 Oct 2020

The new 15 rule does not include any staff it is purely the bride/groom and guests x

UKbride Member 12 Oct 2020

We get married in December. Us two plus 13 guests as anyone working doesn’t count.

UKbride Member 12 Oct 2020

Look on the gov.uk page on the guidelines for weddings.... it says 15 including bride and groom and excluding anyone who is working

UKbride Member 12 Oct 2020

I'm maid of honour in 2 weeks time and the only person who isn't counted is the priest.

UKbride Member 13 Oct 2020

Numbers may be reduced from 15 people if the venue / register office can’t accommodate 15 in a Covid safe manner.

Suck the vicar off and you can have as many guests as you want
