Prices

How are people finding the late weddings? Me and my fiance are planning on getting married around 4 o'clock. Havent got a venue yet and expecting more people to come later on. Also is it cheaper to have a late wedding? We dont want a sit down meal either and just planning on a hot and cold buffet when evening people arrive.

You would have to ask your registrar abour prices as i think it a set daily rather than the time of day but when it comes to venues i think the packages for evenings (if they do them) are cheaper. Just need to ask at the venue. Its cheaper to marry Monday-Thursday with the registrar than it is any other x

That's the one thing I regretted about our day, by having it so late it flew by and felt like we didnt make the most of it ... wish we had got married around lunch or 1 d

We’re having a twilight wedding. We get married at 6pm and then have pics etc and then reception will start at 7.30pm with evening guests and buffet for all. It was about £3000 cheaper than having a whole day , especially as it’s only a small wedding with only 14 people (inc us) for ceremony. We should have got married on 02/08 but have rebooked for next May.

We went with full day, package is 7k and that's because we wanted to involve his family and have a day of it. Only spend that much on 2 things, buying a house (✅) and a wedding!

We've booked a twilight, ceremony is at 4pm and means we can have everyone there, saved £2000 by avoiding the sit down. We do get to have a bridal suite from 12.30 so that makes the day more special x

More time to worry, less time to party

I had friends who got married later they said they wish they went with a little earlier as they found the day went too fast for them and they wished they had longer. Not personally don’t it myself xx

I did this 😊 meant i got a lie in and was way less cranky than I would've been if I had to be nice to people all day 🤣

I’ve booked a 4pm wedding with a sit down meal @ 6pm.. we are having 70 guests which will be there for the whole thing.

My advice for what it's worth 😂 find your venue and then decide. Depends how many people are attending. But you maybe able to get a whole day for the same price as an evening depending on the venue you choose.
We got married at 1pm and I wish it was 11am!
The day goes over in a blink of an eye and no matter how long you have there will never be enough time. Its your one day (of a lifetime) to spend with those you love.
Either way enjoy every second and congratulations on your upcoming wedding 🤍👰

We got married at 3.30pm. Meant I didn’t have to get up stupid early to get ready which was nice. The venue wasn’t any cheaper but we didn’t spend as much on ‘evening food’ as everyone was still full from dinner.

Ours wasn't any cheaper but it was later, had the same guests all the way through and a hog roast rather than a sit down meal, it was brilliant! It meant we weren't rushing to get ready my little girl could have a snooze before the ceremony. Wouldn't change a thing about how we did it 😊 x

We got married at 1.30 meant could have a lazier morning and we had an afternoon tea for the wedding breakfast about 3pm. Was a nice compromise

Following, we are getting married at 3:30!

UKbride Member 8 Sep 2020

I got married at 1.30 blinked and the day was over my original time was 3pm but got moved and I am so glad that it did xxx

UKbride Member 8 Sep 2020

We got married at 3pm then had snacks during photos. We then went on to a pig roast, salads and desserts. It was all fine.

I got married at 4pm & regretted it as the day goes so fast I wish I had it earlier & we also had a buffet meal & it was so much better especially if there are children coming

We get married at 4pm 2 weeks on saturday xx

UKbride Member 8 Sep 2020

We got married at 12 pm. I wouldn't change a thing. The day went so quick still. We didn't feel rushed. I was up around 7am, makeup and hair from 8am. Left the house around 11.40. It was perfect.
I don't think we would have been happy getting married later. We had plenty of time to mingle with our guests. xx

Katie Silvester saw this and thought of you xxxx

I love the idea of a later wedding but for a photographers point of view it depends what time of year. Its its late in the year it will get dark quickly, so less outdoor photos

UKbride Member 8 Sep 2020

We had a 3:30pm wedding. And whilst it was a lot of waiting around getting ready, it was a nice chill wedding... we had the choice of 12pm or 3pm and 12pm just seemed like we’d have had to fill the day with more and spend more money..

UKbride Member 8 Sep 2020

I made the decision to get married as early as possible so I got maximum party time!!! But also older members.of the family were a concern saying up later x

UKbride Member 8 Sep 2020

I am getting married for a second time We are getting married at 3.30 having a bbq as food then evening reception at 8 (different venue)
We didn’t want huge gaps of people waiting for the evening to start which happened at my first wedding when I got married at 1pm x

UKbride Member 8 Sep 2020

We are having a twilight wedding getting married at 4pm as we didn’t want a sit down meal either, 80 guests to be there the whole time and a buffet/hog roast in the evening 😊

UKbride Member 8 Sep 2020

Our venue was so much cheaper with no wedding b/f. We're having canapés & drinks reception then bbq buffet on the evening 😊. Will be getting married @ 4pm.

UKbride Member 9 Sep 2020

Our wedding was 3pm on a Saturday although I don't think it was cheaper we just didn't want the evening to drag....
We got married in the church of the area I grew up in and then had the village hall for our reception and it was perfect x

Hello! 😊 If you choose to have a twilight wedding the mood of the ceremony will be different that time of a day. The benefits of having a ceremony later in the day is you can save some money by cutting out the wedding breakfast and if you don’t want a sit down meal, then you will also save some money there.

Something you have to take into consideration is figure out when the sun will be setting, depending on when you are having your wedding. If you are planning an overseas wedding and want your wedding photos to be more romantic, we recommend starting your ceremony 30-40 minutes before sunset as it would also make for some gorgeous photography!

Before making a decision on your chosen wedding venue It’s also worth a visit in the evening to see how the mood would look as not all venues would be suitable for evening weddings.

Best of luck with it. 🌸xx

I'd personally like a early wedding as there is more time to celebrate throughout the day🙈🙈
