Postponed wedding

We were supposed to be getting married next week but due to covid 19 we have postponed it until November. Has anyone got any suggestions of what we could do on the day? We were hoping to go out for a meal but as restaurants still aren't open that's not an option.

We ordered a takeaway and just had a day playing games and treated it like a date day. We were supposed to be married in April but now it’s in November also

Take away, chill out, put on your first dance song and dance in the living room xx

This happened to me a month ago, we order an afternoon tea from our wedding cake maker, had some drinks in the garden with a home made honeymoon scene and a Mr and Mrs Zoom Quiz with family 🙂

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

We got dressed up, bottle of champagne and had a zoom call with all our family and friends who would have been with us! It was lovely to see everyone for a virtual wedding reception!! We all had a drink together and raised a glass to our wedding which will happen next year now! Xx

My partner and I were due to be getting married on saturday. At our wedding we will be having an afternoon tea instead of 3 course meal, so on Saturday, when we should he tying the knot, I will be making us an afternoon tea and raising a glass.

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

Ours should be today 🙁, I’m at home alone (furlonged) and the fiancé went back into work last night (he is a hgv driver) so nothing special for me 😢 roll on March for attempt 2 x

I’ve decided to decorate my house on our colour scheme and going to cook our favourite meal and make a nice day out of it all. should be fun, we’re both gamers so thinking of doing different game activities too and a nice walk. x

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

We got dressed up, had sliced meats, cheese and veg for lunch, garden games and music in the garden, ice cream from the ice cream van for our family, fancy meal just for the both of us from M&S for the evening, zoom family call in the evening. X

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

We had to prospone our wedding too. Thankfully, fingers crossed we're going to be married exactly two months later. But our wedding day would have been originally our 11th anniversary. I've secretly arranged for our favorite restaurant to deliver a take away 3 course meal with plenty of champagne.
What ever you do, do it together and think of the wedding to come xx

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

We are supposed to be getting married this Sunday 24th May but postponed till December.
We will celebrate with a nice meal and champagne. We plan on going to the venue to take some pics. I have bought my fiancé some gifts to remember what would have been our big day.
Good luck everyone with your new dates and stay safe most importantly 🌈💙🎉🥂💖x

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

We were due to get married in september but we booked for april next year too.been lucky that we can keep both dates x

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

We were supposed to be getting married on Saturday. We originally re-arranged for 29th August but postponed it last week to 22nd may 2021. Unfortunately social distancing is going to be around for a while and I can't cut my numbers down plus the church won't be open in time to reread our banns. We are going to have a takeaway and some champagne and probably some tears but then to think we have all our guests safe and well and we will celebrate next year x

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

We were supposed to get married on 2nd May. We couldn’t really go anywhere so we got each other a small gift, danced our first dance and attempted to make our wedding meal. Oh and we had a few drinks 😃. Was emotional but we made the most of it

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

A lot of restaurants are now doing loving cook at home meals such as cote brassiere. Why not have picnic in your living room or garden with some delicious restaurant quality food?

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

We were meant to get married april 25th. We sat in garden had a social distance drink with parents then our friends did a zoom wedding party/quiz where we all dressed up in going out clothes xx

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

We were Dec we postponed we couldn’t enjoy the planning or the fact we had only got engaged New Year’s Day 2020 so decided to wait until we actually know when it’s safer to have groups of people etc xx

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

Have a zoom party with all your friends. 🎉

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

We’ve arranged a socially distancing photo shoot with our photographer for on the day (July) and plan to order in from the same food place that would have been doing our evening food truck

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

Lots of restaurants and pubs are doing takeaway food.. treat yourself to a fancy takeaway

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

We were supposed to be married yesterday as we were having an afternoon tea I ordered in one which was delicious and we had bubbly with the neighbour's over the fence I put up our bunting and asked guests to send us pics of them toasting us to make a wedding album to display on the new date x

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

We are supposed to get married in July. If by then gatherings are allowed... we are going to have a fake/piss take wedding in our garden with friends and just drink. If smaller gatherings are permitted itll be a small number of friends... 4 at the most. If so then itll be bbq and drinks. My uncle is my photographer and im gonna ask him to come round to take pics of us and make the most of our 'supposed to be' wedding day. I dont doubt for a second that the moment i wake up on 18th July I'll probably have a wee cry to myself but what can you do? We have 2 backup dates secured, 31st October and 6th March...so it's a bittersweet thing really.

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

We were meant to get married this Saturday, I think we'll be having a picnic in the garden and lots of booze! 😂🥂 X

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

Maybe a picnic or takeaway? I might ask my florist to make me an arrangement and order some cupcakes from my cake maker to help celebate my original date in July

Or maybe you could get a member of your wedding party to create a quizz on zoom- how well they know the couple?! xxx

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

Our wedding was suppose to be today, instead we went for a walk along the canal, went to the butchers for some steak and had a nice dinner at home... doing a virtual quiz with our family this evening xx

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

Make a huge grown up play tent out of your sheets, Fill it with pillows and a blanket, pull out the fairy lights from the Christmas stash and have a little picnic inside (with wine) and enjoy your own private little den that could be anywhere in the world x

UKbride Member 18 May 2020

decorate your house, say your vows and exchange rings, get a meal delived, take photos and call each other husband wife etc. we were due to get married on 4th april and we did the above, I even made myself a bouquet from flowers from Sainsburys and wore a white summer dress, it was the best day ever and then we have had a 2 month honeymoon as we both are not able to work from home or go to work.

UKbride Member 18 May 2020
