Being positive and motivated in uncertain times

Hi, I just wanted to share an idea as like many brides atm my original wedding date was meant to be next weekend and has been postponed. My guest book has got our may date written on it so to acknowledge the day and still have something to look forward to I have asked family and friends to send us a picture of them toasting our day so that I can stick this along with their rsvp into the book and look back on this day with happy memories still. My aunt shared my idea with a friend and was passed on to another bride who is also going through upsetting times and this idea gave her motivation and some excitement back for the original day. If like me emotions are up and down atm I hope this can give a positive outlook and give others the chance to recieve messages and pictures from friends and family on their original special days.

Such a hard time for everyone. Try not to be too disappointed if your venue cancels/postpones - at least you can look forward to having your wonderful day surrounded by your loved ones - it will happen for you! ❤️
As ours was two days before lockdown, we couldn’t cancel or postpone, but half of our guests had been told to go into isolation and therefore couldn’t attend. We were also told the day before that we could only have 10 people in the church so had to send out frantic messages (thankfully we have amazing friends, so those who could attend stood outside the church on the road and watched a live stream of the wedding taken by the best woman - bless their hearts).
As it was, we still had a beautiful day and I married the love of my life which was the most important part for me, but It was marred with sadness that the majority of our family and some friends could not make it. I had to rewrite my table plans 6 times in the two days prior to adjust for cancellations, the last being the morning of my wedding as the venue wanted up to date seating arrangements and I had 5 people going into self isolation that day. Stressful and upsetting to say the least!
So I know it’s frustrating and upsetting for you all when you’ve been waiting so long, but remember - it will happen for you, and it will be all the sweeter knowing you’ll be spending it with your loved ones! ❤️

Lovely idea! I know some couples are also hosting Zoom parties with family and friends to mark the 'day that should have been'. It's good to celebrate and reaffirm your commitment to each other. Enjoy.🍾🥂😊
