Has anyone done a wedding for £7000?
Mine comes in under 3000. Just depends what u want and how big u want it
I would say it is possibly doable ... depending on venue mid week will make great savings! We opted for a Monday (didn’t happen due to covid, now changed to a Tuesday in October.. I personally preferred Monday for a long weekend) we managed to get the most amazing lakeside marquee venue for 100guests at £3299.
We did ours for 1500 and that was everything
Yep, that was our budget - and for almost 200 guests!
I did mine for about that all in.
The key is to do as much as possible, I was very lucky I knew lots of people that helped (that was their wedding gift) including the cake, the favours and the decorations.
One thing that can save alot is to get legally married first at the registery it's around £200 ish if you get married at a venue it's around £700!!
My dress was £50!! And the bride aids were £38 each I got them off asos!
Less.... Not including honey moon x
Ours is going to be around that. Nearly 50% was the venue. We are doing a lot of DIY and calling in a lot of favours. We got caterers who specialise in outdoor events paella for 120 in the day and 180 pork/halloumi rolls in the evening for around £1500. Definitely doable but might have to get a bit creative. We are also having our legal ceremony before hand and a celebrant on the day.
even less
Yup I did it for less than that for my first wedding. We hired a room at golf club, had a late wedding and a hog roast. No evening buffett as we got married at 4pm so didnt eat until half 6 after photos and all that jazz.
It wasn't really want I wanted but we didnt have much money. Think it was a omen as he turned out to be a complete idiot 😂. Getting married again next year to my prince charming and going all out, but in a much better financial position as we both have decent jobs. However that being said this one will come in at about £8000 as we have an all in package that includes so many extras xx
Ours comes to £2000 so definitely doable
Ours was probably around that and we had 150 people in a beautiful hotel 🙂 similar to above comments, we did a lot ourselves and had a lot of wedding gifts (cake, favours, flowers)
Our whole day is costing us around £4000 for venue, food, evening, DJ & photographer. We have 100 guests in total.
We spent just over £5000 on our day with 150 guests xx
I've done mine for 2500..it can be done just depends on how extravagant you do it xx
Our wedding money is £3.500 we getting married on 20th of July 2020 hopefully. All paid ! We have over 80 guests and still have money for hair and makeup. We got decorations, photographer, flowers, restaurant- all inclusive 💗
Yes ours was £6500 for the whole day! Got married at a hotel and had the reception there also. 3 course meal for 60 people and a buffet for 100 in the evening! X
Absolutely!
Our venue including all food, toasting drinks, DJ and ceremony is £5200... It's definitely doable!!
We are paying around £8500 in total for everything for our day but that's our choice but when it comes to dresses etc I bought my flower girls dresses from a business which was closing for £20 in total. I bought my bridesmaid dresses on sale for £75 in total. My wedding dress was £400!!
Enjoy the bargain hunts! I did!! ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
Yep 🙂 and it was perfect, just try and do as much as your own stuff you can and look for bargains for table decorations etc xxx
Mine was about £5,000 but £1,500 was the dress and £1,500 rings 🙂
Ours was £6K. Married at 3.30, buffet, disco for 120 guests. We had a capacity for 200 guests so opened up "the party" to others on the night. My dress was £120, got artificial flowers from amazon and made my own centre pieces out of them. Cake was m&s. There's no reason to go crazy spending on a wedding. The most important thing in my mind is that you have everyone you want there.
If your really good at negotiating you can have the lot £1,500-2000 if your happy having a week wedding/winter. It’s one day could do so much with £7,000 other than one day for your couple/family future.
We did ours for about that.
Venue £5000 inc marriage, food, DJ etc. We got married at 5pm and had drinks & canapés first with 70 guests, then a party with a buffet from 7.30pm with another 100 guests.
I had my dress made by a local dress maker for £180. 😊
We did ours for under 6k that included hotel wedding (on a Friday in August) for 70 guests with sit down meal, 120 night guests with buffet, all outfits & dress, decoration, DJ, flowers, 2 nights accom, hair, makeup, cake & photographer etc I work in sales so I did negotiate on everything & didn’t pay full price for anything it pays to shop around we didn’t compromise in anyway on quality but if you don’t ask you don’t get good luck with your planning 👍
I done my wedding for roughly £2000. My dress only cost £200 in the sale 😍 and we had the reception in nice village hall that has a bar and kitchen. We had catering witch cost £1000. And everything else fitted into the other £1000 lol. It’s easy to it on a budget when you really do your research. Xx
Yes! 🥰
Ours is roughly £6000, however we are very lucky to have a DJ and a photographer in the family who will be giving their services to us as wedding presents!
I did ours for 2k x
That’s approximately what we will have spent on ours
Yeah we did it 🙌🏻 got a late availability deal so booked it just within 6 months of our wedding day (food, DJ, sweet cart, rooms to stay in etc all included) my dress was in the sale. We did the flowers and decorations ourselves, my auntie made the cake. My brother was the photographer. Biggest expense apart from the venue, was the photobooth and the hair & Make up lady! I think it’s key to work out what is essential to you, and pay the money on that and everything else you can sort for cheaper xx
Ours was around 5k including rings, clothes etc. We had the church we attend free and there was a huge hall at the back for the reception- also free. A friend is a registrar, another friend did flowers for the tables. We bought the flowers from Lidl for 20 pounds and they looked amazing. We bought table cloths, runners, decorations, lights etc - some from etse. We had a pig roast and salads, and made some desserts and got the rest from Costco. The pig roast people served and cleared and provided crockery and cutlery. We used a florist for my bouquet, two arrangements in the church and button holes and a little arrangement for the top of the cake. Got platinum rings at bargain prices and a beautiful dress. Hired suits for the men. Friends and family helped decorate. We had 120 people.
My wedding cost about three and a half! Had full sit down meal for 100 guest and evening do ! This includes dress, cars champagne flowers everything! I can’t understand people who spend so much ! You need your money for the marriage not the wedding! Buy a house !
Yep
Yep, £6,500 for absolutely everything the invites, seating plan, venue, dress, bridesmaid dress, accessories, suits, decorations, favours (we had charity pins), food (sit down 2 course meal for 70 people then an evening hog roast for 180 people), transport, flowers, a band and that also included our 10 day honeymoon to Croatia.
Mine was £5000, 60 day guests, three course choice meal, bucks fizz, wine, cava. 100 evening guests, bacon butties for evening. 5 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, 5 groomsmen, best man, all suits, dresses, artificial flowers, cake, photographer, singer, car, transport for guests, a pub quiz, make up/hair for me and a few little extras. https://thriftyclair.com/2019/10/26/how-to-plan-a-wedding-for-less-than-5k/
Ours will come in at around £3,000 no evening meal or dj
I've done a wedding for £5000 which included everything including the honeymoon
We did ours for £7000, We had a 3 course sit down for 60 after our 2pm ceremony, followed by a disco and evening buffet with an extra 80 people.
This price included everything, photographer, dj, rings, food, venue, ceremony etc. The only thing it didn't include was my dress as it was brought for me.
I made all the invitations and stationary including name place cards.
Yes! Ours was about £6700 with honeymoon and full sit down.
We did ours on 5,000!
I’ve done my wedding for £3,200 that’s for everything 😁
We did ours for about £4000
Yes ours was just under £7000 which included everything plus a £2k loss from another venue
Think maybe £2-3,000 x dress was £22 x
I did it for about that and it was quite lavish. We did it all at a hotel and they were amazing, got the registrar for like £500 and our rings were about the same made to our design for us. I cheated on my dress and got one made on eBay. I know there are alot of horror stories but mine turned out amazing! Was only about £120 as well. My mum's friend did the flowers for me so just paid for supplies not labour. I also had my mum's cousin do my hair as my wedding gift and my cousin do my cake as our gift. We had a live band in the evening and photographer all day.... If your money savvy and shop around its definitely worth doing. This all was 8years ago tho so no idea if prices have changed much xxxx
We did ours for just over £1000 xx
Ours was just under £5000 😊
We did our fors 6500 and had everything we wanted including special little touches that made the day even better xx
Speak to tall and ginger weddings, they can get massive discounts off venues and suppliers, I mean really big discounts
Ours is going to be just under that and we get married next august ❤
I would say very much depends on where you are having your wedding, London and the south, everything is far more expensive. No way you could do it for as cheap as some people are saying down here. Our wedding will be between 10k - 12k, we are in Surrey. If you do alot yourself then I imagine you can probably do it for £7000. Good luck x
I’m hoping to do mine for £5k. Going to try and do most things myself. I dont want to spend too much on our wedding, I’d rather have the money for our home and our future ❤️
Yeah might of been bit less easy if you go looking at prices we had big hotel too xx
I think ours was done for around 5k :)
We did under £7k, went to Gretna and took close friends and family for the whole weekend , was great x
We did ours for £3k 👍
We did ours for about that (maybe just over because we had a church ceremony which was extra on top - we could have been married at our castle reception venue which would have been considerably less - so most likely 7500-8k). We had an all inclusive package that was pretty cheap because we took a last minute slot that they hadn’t been able to fill (which gave us 3 months to plan and get what we needed - but we actively wanted this due to the ill health of a family member we desperately wanted to attend). The venue was beautiful and the food/wine was delicious and included candle table centres/ music/ evening DJ. I made the cakes/invitations/ name cards etc myself and my family and friends took photos which were beautiful. The only other expenses were the rings, flowers and our clothing. Beautiful bridesmaids dresses from Debenhams and a second hand dress for me. My husband spent the most on his suit and his best woman’s dress! 😂 It is definitely doable if you look around 🙂
Venue: £3,000. Photographer: £600. Dress: £1,000. Bridesmaid dresses: £100 (debenhams sale). Hair and Makeup: £1,000. Transport: Dad's car. Cake: Mum in law's baking. Favours: £50. Invitations: £30 (Lidl)
Easily! I’ve been married twice and neither cost anything like £7000. It does depend what kind of wedding you want of course. And how long you have to plan as that may dictate the venue and suppliers etc.
The first thing you need to do is do a list of your things you’re not willing to compromise on such as guest list or venue etc and then work from there.
I think you can definitely do a wedding on any budget! Might have to have a smaller wedding, make your own favours/invites etc and perhaps see if you can call in any favours re photographer/cars etc! Xxx
Sometimes as well you can get a could deal if you get married during the week or out of season! Good luck! X
We spent over that but could have got down to under £7K pretty easily by shaving the price off a few things. It seems a reasonable number if you find a venue and catering that isn't too expensive, they were our main cost but the venue was lovely and the caterers supplied everything like tablecloths, runners, coloured plates etc so we didn't then have to pay out on decorations, then it was dress, suits, music and honeymoon (we counted that in the wedding budget but you might not be).
Ours wasn’t much more than this But my dress wasn’t included in the overall budget as I’d been left money by my great grandmother with the express instructions that it was for a house deposit or a wedding. Well it was only £1,500 and we had a flag already so dress it was.
Ours was around 7500. That was in a saturday and included dress and suit rings and shoes. 74bin day 120 evening. My dress was quite expensive too. We are yorkshire tho the furthur south the more expense i expect
I did mine all for £2000 , got married at auchen castle then had reception at a pub x was lovely x dress cost £80 x it was perfect
Yes went to Barbados and got married and had a reception when we got back
We did ours for £7k, got married at the Guildhall in Leicester, all decorations for the venue were made by myself and sister in law. Beetle convertible to the evening venue, beedles lake golf club, take that tribute band were my biggest luxury but were truly amazing. We had pulled pork cobs, pizza salad and chips, all table decorations home made, table confetti off e bay. Cake was truly amazing made by my sister in law. My dress was a luxury too, bridesmaid dresses from next. Hired suits. Truly amazing day
Ours was about £8500 but we could have got it down to £7000 if we’d of cut stuff out x
We did ours for £6.5k. look at local council buildings and don't ask for more. Look at vendors that don't normally do weddings. Eg we had a local good stop do the food which saved us £2k for the same food and it's was really tasty!
Our wedding was just over £5000, I made the table centre pieces, invites, bouquets, wedding cake and cupcakes myself and a friend did the DJing for mates rates. Also saved money on a photographer by hiring a lovely guy looking to expand his work - great rate and brilliant pictures. Also had a photo booth on the night time so got guests to have their pictures done ( was a bigger expense as guests got a copy to take home)
I brought my dress online and had it altered at timpsons! It was cheaper to buy the suits rather than renting.
We did it for around £6k.
We got married at the racecourse in a weekend inbetween the races so the whole place was decked out with beautiful flowers, etc. We were essentially the only group onsite. They have great packages which included wine, various food throughout the day and a dj! And they go above and beyond to ensure the day is perfect for you!!
I got my dress from a second-hand bridal boutique, it is a little un-conventional, however they were all impeccable and can have it fitted just the same!
Ti save and because my bridesmaids were coming from overseas. They purchased their own dresses and the only rule was navy and long. Something they liked and would wear again. I purchased our accom for their trip.
We bought suits for our groomsmen and my husband, this was probably the biggest expense aside from the venue haha.
I loved pinterest for inspiration and I did all my own decorations and signs, along with invitations and place cards, etc.
For flowers, I also did my own and negotiate with a florist to buy at a little more than wholesale prices from them.
Good luck!!!
Yes, and have loads on money saving tips.
I did my wedding in 2019 for about £8000 and I used all suppliers I did none of the work myself. I have now made my own wedding help service (no website yet but soon) but follow me on instagram and Facebook for updates
Ours was probably around £6000 everything included, ceremony, venue, food, DJ, cake, outfits, stationary, flowers, confetti, sparklers
I did mine for 3.5.
Or wedding was around our under £5000 we did a lot of stuff ourselves such as invites and party favours etc
my friend did heres for 6000
Ours was £3500 including our 10 night honeymoon in Crete! 👌
We did out wedding for less than 3k. Got married in Cornwall, our local registery office, 60 guests, then had our reception in an old warehouse, live music, tapas meal. It's all about priorities, my wedding dress cost £80, made to measure from China and then taken in by a friend, we exchanged work for work for the band, hired local old hospitality colleges to work the bar and bought all our booze from supermarkets. It's more work to go cheap but it's completely worth it!
We went to New York, got married in central park, dinner at the restaurant in the park for us and 7 guests and then had a reception at home. Literally EVERYTHING cost 7800 including taking 2 kids with us.
Ours was about £7,500 including our August honey moon which was just over £2000 xxx
Yes. Venue cost us £2000 with food (golf club function room). Church was £500, my dress was only £100, suit hire for groom, fathers and groomsman £600, bridesmaid dresses £40 each on very. Cake made by friends for £120. Cars were a present as a friend used his own classic cars. Decoration was kindly done by my mother in law. Honeymoon £1,800. It's very possible. Just look around for your venue. You will know which ones for you. We didn't have a three course meal. We had afternoon tea which saved us a fortune. A lot was done by us which saved money. Favours were love heart sweets which were personalised. We had a band that cost £400 and they did the dj bit in between. You honestly don't have to spend a fortune. The day after we was pretty pleased how it went when we reflected back. The photographer costs can be pricey so we had just professional posed shots done. Then relied on family to take photos.
Just less than £4000
For all getting married at 4 at registry office
With photographer
Then to venue with 25 guests
Then disco and food for 70 people
Have included price of cake
And making my own candy bar
My dress his suit and best mans suit
3 bridesmaids dresses flowers
And shoes for everyone
Don’t have to be expensive is you shop around
Yes, mine will be around that... my venue/reception/food/rooms are all one place for under £4000, the rest won’t come to over that and if it is it won’t be by much
Ours was about that. Shop around for a dress, suit hired, flowers, favours, invites, decorations all DIY with bits from Amazon, EBay, hobby craft, did my own hair and makeup, Groupon a photogropher/videographer, we did our own disco/karaoke as my husband has his own company xx
Thank you everyone. I have looked at every venue package in devon and cant find anything that we both agree on that is cheap. Finding it hard. We only have 60 guests but dont know anyone close that can do things like dj or cake. My friend is a hair dresser so will save on that but nothing else. Thank you for all your comments I will keep looking. Just fed up of looking I just want to book somewhere now. Xx
We done ours for £5000 which was in Cyprus including our hotel and flights too xx
We booked a late deal at our dream wedding venue - in the October for Valentines weekend. Had 70 day guests with welcome drink, canapés, chair covers and extras. Then had in total 130 for evening reception, with a buffet, disco etc. We also hired the whole Manor House and 14 bedrooms. All for under £5k, only extras are my dress, bridesmaids and suit hire - so yes easily done.
Done ours for £2000
We did ours for £6000, it's easily done. The only thing we didn't pay for was the wedding car as a family member has a wedding camper an business.
I wish!! £22k for us 😂
I'm doing it in less than 4000 and that's catering bar gifts and outfits x
I think all these comments are fab, i didn’t stick to my budget as it easily spirals but 2 things I would say is please do not cut corners on your photos! They are your only lasting item when your memories fade. We had 2 as they get so much more.
Secondly if you can get a new starting out videographer then do. Don’t cut it out. We paid about £450 for all day coverage but he’s now in the thousands and the little clips video is amazing honestly it’s so worth it and they are intrusive.
Although you want to keep to a budget you really shouldn’t scrimp on the photos xx
All in for £6500. You can do it. And I didn't scrimp either. Everything the way we wanted
We did ours for under £4000 think it also depends on where you live. It was the most wonderful day ever., 😊😊
Mine was around 3/4 x
Holly Maggie Any advice? 😂
We did our wedding for about 5000 to 5500
We did ours for £3000
Yes. And it was beautiful. It was a winter wedding, so that helped, the hotel was absolutely gorgeous, abbey house hotel in Barrow. We had everything there. It was 4000 for 60 guests, beautiful hotel suites for night before and night of, dj, evening food as well as main meals, loads of decorations, center peices, lanterns, trees, star lit dance floor.. It looked so much more. Then we paid 1200 for our photographer and the rest went on dresses and suits, hair and makeup. 😊
Ours cost £3500 - which covered the fees, hall hire, a buffet, some alcohol, hair and make up, photographer, groom suit and bridesmaid dress. Friends and family and myself and my husband did the hall decoration, wedding cake, wedding dress and invitations. We made up a music playlist and used this instead od a DJ with a few cheap disco lights from amazon.
We’re doing a Spotify playlist via a phone and getting a big speaker from Menkind. Do the decorations yourself. Go to charity shops for your dress and then get it fitted shouldn’t cost too much . Have a bunch of disposable cameras around for pictures you will get some brilliant ones . If you already have everything you need for your house create a wish list on Amazon of things you want like fake flowers for bouquets and ask people to get those things as your wedding gifts. Marks and Spencer’s do Colin the Catapiller wedding cakes. Or you could buy a big white plain cake and decorate it yourself. If you want professional photos have a look for people who are wanting to expand there business they will often work for free or cheap. Get your braidsmaids dresses from a high street shop. Look at midweek Afternoon weddings
We managed ours for just under £3000 just to be clear it was not a big fancy lavish wedding but was exactly what we wanted, we had my mums friend make our cake and I got my dress from a shop that fits every budget. A wedding doesn't need to break the bank to be perfect xx
£5000, not including honeymoon. Easy really, shop around.
I’ve done two weddings so far, one for £600, second one for 25k and getting married again in November for around £2,500
Mine's coming in at £5000 without the honeymoon
