Kick up a fuss or get over it?

I tried my dress on in store the day of arrival and was so excited (as expected) for about 5 minutes then paid for it in full. Since then we found the shoes and have since tried the dress on again. On trying my dress at home it didn’t feel right. I thought I’d put on weight ???? or maybe my bra was just uncomfortable, got a different bra and tried on another day and it still wasn’t right. I was being cut up in my arm pits. We checked our photos from trying on the show room dress and it’s a good inch or two lower hence why it wasn’t cutting me up before. Since then I’ve called the store and they left me a message full of bull and told me there is nothing they can do. The design of the dress isn’t correct. I’m going to a seamstress soon to hopefully sort the issue but I feel totally let down by a store that you would think would understand how much this kind of thing means. Plus the design is faulty. Sorry for the long post but do I call back the store and make a big thing about it or just leave it and just never suggest the store to anyone?

Hi. I had a similar problem but mine was a faulty zip. I took it back to the store and told them I wasnt happy and they was to sort it out. After many words of them trying to fob me off I eventually managed to get it returned to the designer and its waiting for now to re collect 6 weeks later. I am not holding much hope that it is totally fixed though as they have not replaced the zip. If I am still not happy I will not be taking it home. I also rang around other stores who stocked
My dress to see if any other brides had problems. It will be down to the shop if they take it back or not but it is worth a go. Good luck xx

I would say something you've paid for a dress that isn't right.

So you tried your dress on then you think they swapped it for another dress?x

What size did you try on? And what size did you get? The ship should order you a size above what you tried on because the dresses in the shop have been tried on so many times they stretch and change shape. In my mind they should fix this, at least offer to pay for the alterations. I would get on to them again, they won’t want people bad mouthing their business and they are not running their business properly if they don’t offer some kind of help.

I took my dress to the seamstress to have a few things done, one of the things it was cutting into me just below my armpits. The seamstress explained the when they manufacture the dress they put in this wire thing around the arm hole and alot of people have problems with it. Not sure why they do this but she cut the wire to take it out and it instantly felt better, only took her a few minutes to do. So it may be just this which is a very easy fix and not a problem with the dress as such. The dress you tried on in the shop may have already had it cut out.
Maybe ask a seamstress and if its not a easy fix definately go back to the store.

I'd try them one more time and give them the ultimatum, fix it or I'll leave review everywhere.

If you took the dress away with you how could they have altered it?

Are you lacing it up the same way at home as was done in the shop? that can sometimes make a massive difference to how it feels?

Go back and try it on in store, so they can see the issue, unfortunately though as you tried it and were happy not alot can be done. Unless you think it's not the dress you tried on?!

Trading standards!!! Report them that's not fair I hope you can sort out your dress.

A dress maker can put right

I'd be straight back in there - it's the most important dress of your life! I'm not sure what the policy is re: refunds/exchanges of wedding dresses but I'd keep on at them. Its poor customer service at best and if she has changed the dresses then that is just awful!
