Wedding Planning Slump

It's 18 months till I get married and I've already had enough of the wedding planning! Please tell me I'm not alone and how did you get through it?

I'm getting married in 18 months too... We are doing a little bit by little bit. Finding a venue was the most time consuming!

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

slow and steady

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I’ve got 4 months to go and I’m fed up! 😂 struggling with logistics and transport as some guests don’t drive and I’ve been banned from driving on the wedding day!

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

We are 17 months away and just booked venue & registrar. But yes there are a lot of things to look at & can feel very over whelming at times.

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

Dont let it stress you out 🙂 I've got 14 months to go, booked church and venue, dj and disco, photographer, got my dress and bridesmaid dresses. Just got to sort catering, decorating, suits and dress alterations! All these things just kind of happened, I didn't spend hours pondering over it or stressing. Try and remain calm and laid back about it 😀x

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

My wedding was 2 weeks ago, I can tell you the planning and the stress doesn't get ANY easier atall but honestly the day makes everything so worth it ❤

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

Book everything in one location if possible... normally hotels do discounts if the whole day is celebrated there. It lessens the stress as you only have to worry about photographers, cake and decs etc and then the food will be provided by the hotel of you want it to be

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I know the feeling! We are having MAJOR issues with my partners twin (also the best man) nothing to do with the wedding but honestly it’s killing us

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I was the same.. Got bored of waiting. Decided to redo all the planning and marry within 8 weeks!!

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

If its 18 months away I probably wouldn't start for at least 12-15 months, I'm a last minute kinda person. Always have been, always will be and it works for me 🤩

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I got engaged New Year’s Day 2020 and getting married Dec 2020 Ha ha your be fine. Take a deep breath, write lists and more lists and ensure any decision is what you both want (weve had to remind ourselves of this due to trying to please everyone nightmare) Good luck 😀

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I got down to it and with two month to spare i cud just chill as everything ad been done

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I had mine planned and sorted within a week so I had no stress xxx

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I hated planning my wedding, just wanted it over so I could get on with being married xxx

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I'm that weirdo that is enjoying wedding planning! We get married in November and everything is booked and organised, we've just got to pay for everything and buy a few more bits (suits, decor etc)

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I get married in 5 weeks. Who ever said wedding planning is fun must be on drugs.

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

Me too mines 5 months away xxx

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

Can't deny, I disliked planning our wedding, I was struggling with full time job, depression and other health issues. Don't be afraid to ask for help from family, friends and fiancé!!

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

Got engaged last November getting married this November having a 4 o clock wedding and doing it all in a hotel, staying over on the night, late wedding means don't have to pay for a sit down meal and can go straight to evening do, hiring a photographer from uni student cheap photos and helps build their portfolio x

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I get married in 16 weeks, been engage 15 months, only decided on a date 4 weeks ago, but fortunately for us it's only very small venue, paid register office in full, venue booked for meal and drinks, dress arrived 2 weeks ago and undergoing alterations, flowers ordered, making own cake. Hair stylist booked and doing own make up. Rings bought, now jyst finalising last minute things. Keeping it simple made a massive difference

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I've got 14 months and I'm not a naturally organised person. Church and venue are booked, photographer and band and car are also booked, deposits paid on make up and hair and my dress has been bought. I'm kinda just going with the flow for a bit now xx

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I'm a totally last minute person. Got my venue and entertainment and just about got my dress I think! It'll all work out! Dont let anybody stress you x

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

Iv been engaged nearly a year and just over 18 months to go. And all Iv booked is date, venue and celebrant and accommodation for our wedding night 😂 oh n have our friend designing invites... not even started thinking about anything else... 🤦🏽‍♀️

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

YOUR NOT ALONE 😳🤣16 months for us & yep defo its overwhelming. Just frustrated for us because we cant book the registry office until its 12 months from the wedding cant book a venue until that's done 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️. X

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I've been planning mine for the past 3 yrs. Got 27 days to go it's worth the stress once the end is in sight.

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

We're 18 months out and the planning side in terms of organising companies for various things is ok. I think it'll be when it comes to the table plan and whatnot where it'll be more like a chore 🙈

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

We're 17 days away and I've loved the planning, even if it's been super stressful! We only agreed our date and started booking things in May 2019 so less than a year of planning x

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

My mum did it all ... she just checked with me first x

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I've got 8 weeks and I just can't wait for the day to be here...
I've enjoyed the most part but had enough now.
You'll be fine... just try not to stress as you'll have an amazing day regardless x

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I have a wedding planner, in it I've all sorts of lists. I love wedding planning, really recommend a wedding planner/folder they are a complete godsend

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I was exactly the same! I wasn’t enjoying it, it got all too much so I just took a step back and a break, Iv decided to just do one bit at a time and not rush or over think and it’s got easier xx

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I’m such a planner/organiser but when you are doing it for yourself and your ‘day’, the stress just accelerates. Especially when things go wrong... try being 39 days away from feeding 116 people curry and not knowing whether the caterer will show up... THATS stress.

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

Of course you not. I'm just doing a bit at a time, not rush, not think a lot about it. And try not leasing what everyone else want. It's your & HtB day so do it your way xxx

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I only gave myself 3 months to do it (2.5weeks to go), so didn’t have time to worry about things, they just had to be done! 😂
Just make sure you do what you want and don’t let anyone else try to bully/ guilt trip you into doing things their way. The politics of a wedding can get ridiculous, so just say it’s your way, or they don’t need to come! Make a list and tick things off one at a time. It will make you feel much better seeing each task completed (and some are actually really quick once you sit down to do them). If you have friends or family who are willing to help, use them! X

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

We got engaged 3 years ago and only properly started planning/booking things in around June last year - getting married in November. I felt the same at the beginning of the year so I’ve just told myself to relax and realise I’ve still got months yet. Most of the big things are done so I don’t need to stress for now! I’ll start worrying again when I actually need to 🤣💗

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I honestly love planning so much I'm thinking a career change is needed.. its stressful and so great seeing it come together ..18mths to go

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I was the same. We booked wedding 26 months in advance( the 1st available date on the venue we wanted) still have 13 months to go. And at the moment I have no interest in wedding planning. We have got our appointment to sort the marriage licence out in April so hopefully that will give me the boost to continue planning lol. Good luck x

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I've created a Bridal planner with all the tips I used when planning mine. It includes a comprehensive wedding checklist, budget planner, cost saving tips, advice on choosing your dress and even has seating plan examples! Everything I found useful. You can get a copy here https://www.mybridalbox.co.uk/products/bridal-box-planner 💎💎

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

I just left mine last minute lol stressful but was much better than having months and months of stress was was easier having a month of stress and then all over lol. . The stress is all worth it on the day though. Have the best day ever xx

UKbride Member 2 Mar 2020

Been there! I found the whole thing so stressful but on the day you will know it was all worth it. Don't be afraid to ask for help even if it's small things it can make all the difference

UKbride Member 3 Mar 2020

Been engaged since Christmas Day 2012, finally getting married next year. Only just booked venue & registrar. Can be overwhelming, but take care & all will come into place.

UKbride Member 3 Mar 2020

8 months still to go and feel like I’ve missed so many things. Done with it all ready just to run to Gretna and do it xx

UKbride Member 3 Mar 2020

Cider. A lot of cider.

UKbride Member 5 Mar 2020

Its 15 months until mine and I am loving the planning of it all but I am getting told I am talking about it too much and I dont sound excited about my birthday treat which is at the end of this month.

UKbride Member 5 Mar 2020

I do a bit then leave it for few months then start again so it not overwhelming. 5 months to go and everything in place just need to pay everythibg

UKbride Member 5 Mar 2020

Easy solution, don't get married just have a piss up

UKbride Member 5 Mar 2020

Got married 16.6.17, only had 8 mths to plan it, the only stressful thing was keeping my weight steady to fit in my dress, the last 6 wks I was living on thin air just about. And the actual day went so fast its all a blur, thank goodness for the photo album. Cherish every moment of your special day.
