Hi, we’re getting married in February and we’re struggling to think of honeymoon destinations. My fiancé doesn’t want to go long haul but that limits our options and he doesn’t want to go anywhere cold like Iceland. We were thinking Cyprus but curious to hear your suggestions and experiences. Thanks in advance x
Cape Verde is nice in Feb (and reasonably priced) and Lanzarote is nice but closer to home.
Cyprus is lovely in Feb looking at twenties obviously nothing like summer time but a beautiful place
We’re going to Cape Verde! Around 6 hours flight from UK and hot all year round (also cheaper than Cyprus) 👌🏼
Average temp for Cyprus is feb is 17 degrees and nothing really opens until beginning of May. If you don’t want long haul, consider the canaries, they have year round weather. I’ve not been to Cape Verde but that does too.
Could you delay the honeymoon? Maybe do a mini moon straight away (a night or 2 away maybe) then have a fab holiday in the summer? We did this and it meant we were able to prolong to wonderfulness & have something to look forward to (post wedding blues are real!) but also you might find your budget can be a bit bigger?
The Canaries are always nice but maybe delay til summer if you want heat
Sardinia is a beautiful place but not too warm that time of year around 14 to 18 degrees
I wouldn't be booking anywhere abroad as yet, too many risk until this corona virus under control
We're going to Cyprus for our honeymoon, my H2B at 6ft7 doesnt really wanna go long haul either! But we're getting married in May so we know the weather will most likely be nice. Canaries are always nice weather, all year round, and theres some lovely places you can go. Look at La Concha Boutique Apartments at Lanzarote, they get excellent reviews, most have private hot tubs and its pretty much on the beach 😊x
I went to Corfu for mine last July - was lovely. Went with my 2yr old and in laws (a generous gift of them) x
I'd go for a city break in February or delay the honeymoon until weather is better.
We got married in July and had a UK holiday and then went to Marrakech in October to avoid the school holidays and heat
We get married in 26 days but, having honeymoon in santorini next yr as just had a baby.
We haven't been on a honey moon yet and been married over a year, me and my husband want to go to New York so want to save up for it!
Our criteria for our honeymoon was to fly direct from our hometown (Aberdeen), not too long a flight and all inclusive. So we're heading to Costa Del Sol 4 days after our wedding in May 😀 I've been to Gran Canaria in February before and it was very warm, high 20s every day.
Our criteria was sunshine in October. Flight no more than 5 hours. All inclusive 10 nights and adults only. So we’re going to Greece 🙂
Crete we went to a couples only hotel for our mini moon and it was one of the best adults only places we visited.

We're going to an all inclusive adult only resort in Rhodes. Not long haul. We're going in April with TUI :)
How about Santorini?
Not a honeymoon but the first holiday my H2B and I went on (7yrs ago) was Hurgada, Egypt. Love this place and only 5 hour flight 😍
We went to Marrakech in December still hot and lovely and reasonably priced
Cape Verde is beautiful x
Friend of mine went to Turkey and loved it!
Canary islands or Portugal
We did all inclusive Morocco with tui and loved it. Sounds long haul but isn't 😂
Cape Verde 5 hours
We went to Madeira. February is still very warm in the 20s & 4 hour flights x
We stayed at an all inclusive resort in Los Giagantes. The hotel was beautiful and the food was fantastic. Not all hotels that offer All Inclusive are cheap and nasty. We didn't bother with excursions, because our resort had so much to offer, including a beautiful pool and spa.
If you don’t want to limit your options have you considered a cruise?? I’m cruising for my honeymoon to the Caribbean and I would not be able to afford it otherwise!
European Cruise?
Rhodes or Crete. Both do 5* Adults only hotel resorts and Spa by Atlantica. Beautiful surroundings. Madeira is also a beautiful island, warm climate all year round
Canary islands nice and warm in feb plus only 4 hours on plane
We went to Lanzarote all inclusive fir a week and it was lovely. Just pick a good hotel and you'll enjoy it
Cyprus is wonderful! Rent a car and drive around all the wonders, some amazing places! Must go swimming in Aphrodite's pool, will guarantee you'll get pregnant, that's the story😄 we went in January and it was warm enough for exploring and little swims.
Without going long haul your not going to get anywhere particularly warm in February. If that doesn’t bother you maybe somewhere like Greece? Or a cruise
We went to cyprus last year in November. It’s a fantastic country. We went to Paphos and we did all the archeological sites there, a Jeep safari which was great fun and the divided capital and limmosol. I had a great time. I love history and exploring and this ticked all the boxes and more. We stayed at Anemi Suites which was a gorgeous hotel and perfectly located. I don’t know what the weather would be like in February but if you want a hot holiday, you may be best going to Africa or canaries.
We went to cape Verde following the travel agents suggest and it was amazing, perfect honey moon as there's not much to do so very relaxing after stresses of planning a wedding and you just enjoy being husband and wife xxx
We got married in March, so we went to Tenerife and stayed at Tigotan in Las Americas (adults only) it was amazing! So warm for being March. February would be similar I would say. Café del Mar Playa de Las Américas Tigotan have a peek Hotel Tigotan Lovers and Friends
We got married last February and had a luxury log cabin in Scotland which was beautiful and just what we needed after the craziness of a wedding, we then booked a delayed honeymoon cruise for this November so we had something to look forward to 😁
Kalkan in Turkey
I went to Portugal last year and loved it! The algarve has many beautiful beaches and caves. You can go on lovely little boat trips to explore them Xx
Grand Canaria? We stayed in taurito in a hotel called Suite Princess it’s AMAZING!! It’s where he proposed (not married yet)
Canaries / Egypt / Morocco / UAE / Cape Verde
Cape Verde. I just got married 8/2/2020. Went to cape verde , boa vista island. It was beautiful, relaxing. If you want to go on some trips while your there. I can't recommend giggling geckos enough. They were fantastic and very knowledgeable about the island. Good luck.
Weve been to fuertaventura feb weather was 30 degrees and beautiful only a 4 hours amazing
Mitsis summer palace or blue domes in Kos is HEAVEN. All inclusive, stunning view, hotels have their own beach with water activities, most of which are free. Short bus ride to Kardamena and they can organise excursions and day trips to Nissyros and other islands xxx
I did thailand. It is long haul but not too bad as long as you go with a good airline. We were also thinking Rome or Germany for shorter distances mind you!
Cape Verde, Croatia
Canary Islands, we went in January & weather was lovely in Fuerteventura
Sorry cant help. We went to Iceland when we married in January and it was freezing but awesome!!!🤩 Hope you find somewhere gorgeous and romantic 🥰
We're going to Morocco. Double check their open for holidays otherwise you may not have much to do in Feb x
We booked Greece for October but it's closing down so we changed it to marrakesh, Morocco x
