Arranging venue

So my family are all from up north and my partners family are all from down south so what nice areas in between norfolk and Leeds do people suggest for venues to accommodate both families and not making one side travel further

Where do you live? Is there any nice venues that you want near to you? I get you trying to be fair on everyone but dont forget it is yours and your partners day! Dont settle because you think its half way

There are some nice places in the Derbyshire peaks if that helps. I'm getting married at cressbrook hall it had it's own accommodation 2 cottages attached to the hall which you have to buy as it comes with the venue. There are also 3 separate cottages (these sleep 6 per cottage) and 3 B&B rooms.

I’m from Birmingham, my parter is a Londoner. We decided to get married near Wales in the Malvern hills so both sides had to travel. If they don’t want to travel then they don’t get to be there..

I'm trying to find a suitable place in between families and is hard as anything.

Gloucester is lovely
It’s about 3.5 hours each way . Bowden Hall is stunning and really good value for money we’re in the same boat as we have Manchester and Plymouth

The venue should be where you and your partner want. I've travelled for many family weddings & they have ranged from half an hour to over 4 hours. People make the effort when and if they can - ones who can but don't want to don't deserve to be there. It's yours and your partner's day and you have to make it about you.

Me and my partner are getting married local to us for many reasons but a lot of family will be travelling from all over the England and they're very happy to.

Whatever you decide just make sure it's for you ❤

As others have said, it is where you want to get married that counts. I've got people travelling from Canada and Ireland - if they want to be there for you, they will make the effort!

I'm from north Yorkshire and my partner is from beaconsfield we compromised as my partner did not want to get married in the north we only thought about ourselves if your families love you they will travel were ever you decide to get married. Don't focus on pleasing your families only focus on what you and your partner want and were you both decide to get married.

I'm from Liverpool and partner from the Forest of Dean and we live just outside Gloucester. We're getting married in Clearwell Castle, Forest of Dean so mostly my family will be travelling. They have no issue with this as it's our choice of location and we absolutely love it. Hope you find something you love too x

We got married near to where we live so most people had to travel. I tell you it’s a lot easier to do the visits etc to a venue nearby than having to keep travelling. Wedding planning is already stressful enough.

We are the same his family from cumbria mine live in Sussex but essentially we both have family all over so we went for some where near where we live so it's easy to visit and get local suppliers etc our friends are near then meant our dog and horse could come to wedding too! We chose one with good access from motor ways etc so was easy to get to and people stated over go with what you want really

UKbride Member 12 Feb 2020

Its not up to your family or his family its up to u and your htb where u get married

UKbride Member 12 Feb 2020

It’s your wedding. Do it exactly how and where you want to. The people most important to you will not question that, and if anyone does then don’t invite them!
