I am playing on playing a playlist rather than having a DJ. Has anyone else done this and bought their own speakers? With all the options out there, I don't know what's best to buy. Trying to keep cost way down but I want speakers that will play at a decent volume for dancing and ambiance.

Dj kit in Newbury could help you

Our venue has built in speakers. Could be an option to ask your venue?

I found the cheapest option was to rent speakers. Google local music companies. We had an amazing sound system that was spread across our venue and was a fraction of the cost of buying the level of speaker we would have needed. Also they helped with all the set up etc

We are doing a playlist but our venue has a sound system and our organiser gas a sound bar.

I found that it was actually about the same if not cheaper to have a DJ than to rent sound system that would be sufficient. Plus with a DJ you usually get lights etc that also make it good for dancing and ambience too!

If you go online to MenKind they have a sound system with built in lights it’s about £50 at the moment and it’s amazing . We will be doing that at our wedding. If you have a menkind near you go in and you can try out all the speakers, they were really helpful when we we’re looking

Our venue room had built in sound system so we just plugged phone into it and played our playlist! We paid £80 to have ‘mood lighting’ in the room though.

Hello! Some wedding venues come with an included sound system, which allows for iPad, iPod devices.
It is worth enquiring about the quality. You could always look to hire or borrow some speakers. Hope this helps 😊
