I have got wedding insurance 👍

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We got wedding insurance through debenhams. We didnt use it but they gave us a gift voucher so it only cost us about £20, was worth it for the peace of mind it gave us xx

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We didnt bother with it, purely because we kept forgetting and thankfully never needed it

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We haven't got it x

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We have got it and it covers for all forms of stuff. I would recommend it for peace of mind at least. We used the Insurance emporium.

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

No I never had it and didn't need it x

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

You should get it. It's very affordable and no one who has ever needed it would advise that it isn't necessary

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We got it even though we didn’t use it. We spent £10000 on our wedding - I wouldn’t have bought a car for that much and not insure it 🤷‍♀️ x

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Yes and yes. We used it already and not even married yet

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Don't forget that insurance is not just to cover your service providers in case they go bust etc, it's also to cover your venue etc if there's damage that you might have to pay for.
A friend of mine had to use hers when the suit hire company went in to administration.
I didn't need to use mine thankfully!

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We didn't get it but then again we planned our wedding in 8 weeks so never needed it. Although the shop I bought the dress from went bust last month so if we may have needed it if anything happened to the dress x

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Never got it, never needed it

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

I knew someone who spent thousands on a wedding dress then the shop went bust - no dress and no money back. After hearing that we got wedding insurance before booking anything else and it's definitely worth the small amount we paid just for peace of mind

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We had to prove to our wedding venue that we had insurance. It’s worth it I case anything happens. Not too expensive if you look around.

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Yes we got it (from debhanams) we didnt need it thank goodness, but for piece of mind it's worth it!

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Didn't get it, didn't even know it was thing 🙈 lol

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We went with John Lewis but didn’t need it, we booked really early so it was more peace of mind than anything

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We got ours through Debenhams. Didn’t need it but it was nice to know it was there incase we needed it. Think it was like £60.

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Definitely get it it doesn’t cost much and peace of mind.
If a company goes bust or doesn’t show up on the day you can claim.

We used John Lewis

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Yep. I paid £29 to cover me upto £10.000. Worth having.

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Worth getting it. Last thing is for anything to happen and you lose alot of money.

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

When I bought my wedding dress they gave me information and I got my dress covered! Which was well worth it... nothing happened but was nice knowing it could be sorted if anything did happen!

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Yes it wasn’t very expensive, thankfully didn’t need to use it. But have known people who have had too, so was a no brainer to me.

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

100% recommend!! Ours cost £53 with Wedinsure and we’re insured for thousands! I seen a post on Facebook of a venue going up in smoke 5 months before the wedding, she had insurance luckily! It’s so so important to have, would you insure your phone incase it goes bust? I tell everyone getting married to get it! C

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

I think mine was around £60 but when you consider the thousands and thousands you spend on a wedding then it’s a no-brainer. Imagine what you could lose.

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

I would strongly recommend it in case something happens. We got ours from Debenhams and thankfully didnt need to use it. It cost us 80 pound but the cost did depend on how much you were thinking of spending on the wedding. We over estimated as even though we had a budget it could go over (which it did)

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Def get it.. my friend is the cautionary tale ended up with a huge bill and had to pay it themselves cz they didn’t have insurance

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We have it in case something happens! I've spent a LOT of money on this wedding so far, and it's still 6 months away with stuff left to pay off. If something happened to one of our suppliers I'd be completely out of pocket

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We had to have confirmation of our insurance to book our venue but I’m glad of that because I wouldn’t have thought to get it but you are spending such a lot of money

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Wed insure 😍

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We had insurance, never needed it but it was peace of mind knowing it was there if anything went wrong x

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We didn't get insurance, and luckily everything went smoothly so it wasn't needed.
It's just like travel insurance, depends whether you're prepared to take the risk really.
A lot of the time it isn't used so you're paying that extra cost just for peace of mind.

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

I didnt get wedding insurance didnt need it sorted and nowt went wrong anybodys preference but if ur spending alot of money I think u shud do it and shop round

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

No I didn’t and my mum died 9 days before so reckon it’s good idea 💡 we didn’t cancel age wouldn’t of wanted us too

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We paid around £50 for it. Its necessary for us as my partner is in the military, so we made sure it covered us!

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

I did because my husband is military so we deffiantely needed it but I would 100% have got it even if he wasn't. It cost £60 with Debenhams and they gave us a £20 gift voucher

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

You need it. I've known wedding venues to burn down, go bust etc. Please get it x

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

I didn't even know wedding insurance was a thing 🙈 thankfully mines went smoothly!

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We had ours from Debenhams, it gave real piece of mind just in case. A local venue has just gone bust and left people in the lurch with less than a weeks notice so Dec worth it for the £60 it costs! Xx

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

I’ve been looking at wedding insurance. Can anyone tell me, is it a one off payment you make or is the amount a monthly amount you pay? Been getting quotes for between 80-100 but not sure if that’s one payment or monthly 🤷🏼‍♀️. None of the site are very clear on that??

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Got it, cost £30, totally worth it incase of disaster with venue/suppliers etc.
Can’t predict floods/fires/electrical issues that affect catering etc. Insurance would cover all of that extra cost, or pay to re-plan things

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Got ours through debenhams, had our venue dresser/flower person cease trading but because they didn't go bankrupt and it was classed as fraud we weren't paid out so just check exactly what is and isn't covered.

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

We got it from Debenhams. And while we didn’t “need” it because nothing went wrong. I would 100% say to get it.
It covers you if something goes wrong with your venue or any of your suppliers.

UKbride Member 22 Jan 2020

Wedding insurance is so cheap and covers you for thousands of pounds. It's a no-brainer.

UKbride Member 23 Jan 2020

We have only just started the process of booking our venue etc, so haven’t got insurance yet, but it’s on our must do list.
A friend from work’s son was getting married when his partner (now wife) ended up in hospital and couldn’t make it to the wedding. They didn’t have insurance, so ended up having a big party and FaceTiming her just to make use of the £££ they’d spent on the day! They didn’t have travel insurance either so missed out on the honeymoon too. A few weeks later they ended up going to the registry office as they couldn’t afford anything else 😬

UKbride Member 23 Jan 2020

We used a cashback comparison site I found via MoneySavingExpert. Didn't need it, but with the cashback it worked out to less than 40 quid... In the grand (several grand actually 😉) scheme of wedding costs, I would definitely recommend it, small price to pay for peace of mind.

I didn’t even know wedding insurance was a thing until I read this post 😅

UKbride Member 25 Jan 2020

I never even heard of it 😂😂

UKbride Member 25 Jan 2020

Yes I bought mine for £27 from The Insurance Emporium and I hope I don’t have to use it but it’s peace of mind in case I do!!
