Wedding vows

Did/ are you writing your own wedding vows? We are having a small intimate wedding with 14 close loved ones and thinking that I want to write my own vows.

My husband to be wants us to right our vows. I have no clue how to even start x

A celebrant can do both those things for you ladies

We wrote our own vows and it was the best decision we made. It made it such a personal ceremony

We had a handfasting ceremony and wrote our own vows. It was so much more personal to us both. My OH wrote me a Yorkshire love poem. If you do your own vows, make a rough start, add bits as you think of them and tweak them over time. You don't have to write the whole thing in one go and stick to it. Do it, you won't regret it x

Can you write your own vows if you are not having a celebrant? X

Hello! 😊 Writing personalized vows is a way to proclaim your love for one another in your own words. There are no rules when it comes to vow writing. If you cannot decide whether or not to write your own, consider doing both! You can pick and choose to write some aspects, while still pulling some points from traditional options.

I didn’t write my own vows for my wedding. But I wish I did. We are renewing our vows around our 7th year anniversary ( there are reasons why ) so we will be writing our own then 🙂

We are getting married in church so have to have the standard vows

We have written our own
Ours is a civil ceremony so don’t contain any religious content. We found it had more meaning if we wrote them
