Honeymoon stress

Really struggling to decide where to go for our honeymoon, I'm quite happy to relax with a book but my partner likes to stay active. We're looking for the option to do both in August this year, any suggestions welcome.

Do a cruise. That way he can be active while you chill with a book

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

Bali? Ubud is great for activity, seminyak and the gili Islands are great for relaxing

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

Would 100% recommend Mexico, we went for 10 days, we had a few days out, did a couple of evenings put and most mornings, we both like to see the country we're visiting but also like to chill too, both of us read 2 books while there too

We had this exact problem. We went to Agadir in Morocco with tui, loads of activities but also time to relax.

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

Belgium for the art galleries and breweries and chocolate shops, Germany for the scenery, York for the shops and galleries and museums etc

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We went to Mombasa for our honeymoon (we took our toddler with us)
Can do safari's, snorkeling, pool, beach,

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We've got this exact problem so currently looking at doing a mix of things on a road trip in America

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We have booked Tokyo for 5 days and then onto Thailand for 8 and then a night in an elephant sanctuary. The best of both worlds!

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We're doing 3 nights in New York and then a 7 night cruise around the Bahamas. We can chill when we want to, but then get off the boat and be active as well.

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

I'd reccomend Singapore! Gorgeous city with lots to do, but the hotels and pools are amazing! Good luck xx

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

Madeira is wonderful. You can do a mix of what you both like x

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

I had the same problem with my hubby. We did Mexico...lovely to relax and lots to do if you want it x

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We are going to Pefkos in Rhodes. Really chilled out place but lots to see on the island if you want to

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

Me and my other half like that. We’re going to Cape Verde. X

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We're doing a cruise. Lots to see and do on the ship and also time to relax with a book. Lots of new places to visit too xx

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

Rhodes offered both for us

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

Bali! That's where we are going and it's got a bit of everything

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We have chose New York as we are the same. I don’t mind chilling in the sun but other half doesn’t like the heat so much. We both love city breaks so decided to Rick New York off the list

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

Fuerteventura all inclusive is quite nice 😊 we are going in July, staying at the Arena Resort in Correlejo which has a spa area too so if weather isn’t favourable you can have a day in relaxation 😊
They do a catamaran foyage to Lanzarote Bay and there is an Aloe Vera Plantation and a place that sells handmade silk wear, honey rum and an unusual but flavourful cheese you can do excursion to among other places 😊

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We are going to Mexico and doing excursions!

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We went to St Lucia for our honeymoon August 2019 - fantastic for relaxing but also loads of activities (St James Club was really good for included watersports), places to go hiking, lots of trips available (we tried a boat trip & chocolate making at the Hotel Chocolat plantation)

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

Mauritius and Dubai were our choices, options for both in both locations

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

The Caribbean is good because you get the best of both worlds.. and all inclusive! If you let the hotel know it’s your honeymoon, they may add some special touches to your room.

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We are going on a 5 night cruise around italy. My fiance got vouchers from work so we used them to pay for it.

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We are going to South Africa (safari and then exploring cape town) then we fly to Mauritius for relaxation and also they have lots to do there also from horse riding, water sports, zip lining and exploring :)

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We went to London. We got married in November. We had a week there and it was fab. We walked everywhere or got the tube. Saw all the sights and this was helpful when people asked about gifts. We got tickets for London eye, madam tussauds, sea life. We also got theatre tickets so we had a full itinerary. Probably ideal more winter though xx

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

Try onthebeach.com! You can customise your search criteria and can find beautiful beaches/resort hotels (for relaxing) plus islands to explore and water sports etc! Really great prices too!
We are doing Lanzarote for this exact reason!

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We did marmaris turkey plenty of options to relax and be active x

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We got an interail ticket and used it to travel over a couple of/few weeks so it was really active as we visited lots of locations but also plotted in chill out days :) we started in germany, down through Austria, to Croatia, across to Italy, quick stop on Switzerland for the night and ended in France :)

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

I am a travel agent! Best places in August would be somewhere like practically anywhere in the Mediterranean, Zanzibar (although a bit less to do there) Bali would be good as you could do some time in the jungle, and then head down to the beach for the remainder - you could even stop in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore for a few days to add a bit more excitement x

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We are doing dubai so can relax and do sightseeing i would highly recommend singapore as well as weve been before and there's so much to see and do between sentosa island then china town and bugis street etc etc and the hotels are fabulous for relaxing

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

Cape Verde. Hubby can go quad biking and safari 4x4 touring like we did last year and you can relax on the gorgeous secluded beaches or at the hotel! Or go with him for heaps of fun. We stayed in Sal,one of the smaller islands.have a wonderful time wherever you go x

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We had the same problem. We r going to aruba in may! So excited. Plenty of things for us 2 do but also lovely beaches and our hotel has 5 pools 4 me 2 relax round

UKbride Member 10 Jan 2020

We went on a cruise for our honeymoon as it was my first time leaving the uk. I found it was brilliant - especially if you get the all-inclusive drinks package! You can spend your days lazing around sunbathing and reading when you're at sea, or seeing some of the entertainment they have on board, and then when you are in port you can go off and explore! You can even book excursions for your days at port if planned activities are your kind of thing

UKbride Member 11 Jan 2020

How about a cruise? Plenty of relaxing on the ship but lots of activities about too

UKbride Member 11 Jan 2020

UKbride Member 11 Jan 2020

We've booked Costa Rica for our honeymoon in August, we have a few exciting activities, tree canopy walks, zip wiring and chocolate tours and then the rest of the time to relax on the beach, I cannot wait!
I'm more excited about this than the wedding 😂

UKbride Member 13 Jan 2020

We're going to Northern Irish coast, Ballycastle. My partner is from Northern Ireland, he loves it up there and I've never been around that area. We both love being active with lots of walking and seeing things. Because we're moving from Scotland to Northern Ireland soon, we don't have a lot to spend and will do a bigger trip another time
